I rent Winterstoke out through Acorn Estate Agents
This has not been an easy thing for me to do as I'm single person on one salary. Initially, I only kept my flat because I had seen a house I wanted & couldnt sell it. Rather than lose the house I took advise & kept the Flat!
Since renting it out. Ive had some problems with the. Tenant not paying the rent on time. Acorn chased this & eventually he paid.
I do find that the cost of having it managed is extreme. Because, all I get for that it a telephone call & letter once a month. They dont actually do anything for the money. I still have to pay for maintance etc etc .
I would like to add. Kathleen Milne has been very supportive & tried to sort things out as soon as possible for me & kept contacting the tenant due to me worrying so much She managed to track him down, the rent was paid & I was in turn reassured. Kathleen has been very helpful.
I wouldnt changed estate agents at the moment. However, I feel the managed costs should be reviewd as I find it crippling & I am struggling to make ends meet

The bottom line it took an overly long time to fix but it was resovlved in the end and I received a small amount of compensation for the inconvenience from my landlady which kept the Landlord Tenant relationship on a good basis.

I do feel she is at the end of the phone should there be any issues. I would also like to say Alex from the Forest Hill branch has put himself out in the past when I was looking for a property to rent originally.
Would definitely use Acorn again should I flat hunt again. I have also noticed that recently the
Switchboard person is polite and comes back to you and doesn't leave you holding on for ages.

I have been a tenant in the above address for five years and Kathleen Milne has been my property manager over the last few years . Terrible service, takes ages to resolve issues. And does not care about its tenants. Properties seem to be left to go into disrepair by landlords, and this is not spotted by them (Acorn). We know of 4-5 properties like this now after speaking to other people who have used Acorn to let property.... Read Full Review

Terrible service, takes ages to resolve issues. And does not care about its tenants. Properties seem to be left to go into disrepair by landlords, and this is not spotted by them (Acorn). We know of 4-5 properties like this now after speaking to other people who have used Acorn to let property. Avoid these guys seriously. We will!
