Absolutely shocking service from Senior Letting Negotiator (Lauren) and team, incompetent and useless. Avoid the hassle and headache and choose another agent. Could do better myself with no experience in this sector. Shame I can't give no stars

Allen and Harris are the worst agency I have ever had to deal with. Not only do they lie but when found out they lie even more to cover their tracks. I would strongly advise other buyers and vendors to tread VERY carefully with this company.
I placed an offer on a property having been told the vendors would accept that. Was then told the offer was good, all that was needed was proof of ID and a mortgage AIP and we were there. Lisa repeated to me on more than one occasion that we were 99% there.
I took all documentation to the branch in Penarth and was then guided to another room by Adam who congratulated me on the buying the property. He then proceeded to try to get me to take out a mortgage through them. I explained I already had a mortgage - showed him the AIP they'd asked for.
The attitude changed dramatically. Lisa and Adam couldn't say we'd get the property now. Going in house with them would be much safer. I leave with an uneasy feeling and having phoned the office later that day to check things were on track was told that the vendors had decided to go with other buyers who bid one thousand pounds more than us and were going in house.
To say I'm aghast is an understatement. They denied that they'd advised the vendor to go wth other buyer (who had longer chain than us - when we bid they said we were safe as we had shorter chain)
However, I have since been told by the vendor that he was 'lent' on heavily to go with the buyer who was 'in house'. A truly shocking episode. Not in the interest of the vendor, and one that was purely based on their profit.
They mis-led us, then leant on me to take their mortgage 'or else'. Am left with a really nasty taste and would certainly tell all that see this to avoid at all costs. A self- interested organisation not to be trusted.
