Throughout the daunting process of selling our property, information has been available and questions welcomed, no matter how minor. Steph Biddles has been particularly good with regard to her listening and communication skills, but all the team have tried to help where possible. An issue regarding our property being exempt from the EPC was resolved without question and we were reassured the whole team would be made aware of the specifics of listed properties being exempt. Well done everyone for your efforts.

We had to pay 6 months upfront as we are relocating from abroad, however we were completely taken advantage of. Took them months to fix repairs… for example light fixtures hanging off the ceilings… stairs bannister hanging off… the house smelt like a pig had been living in it.. mold in the kitchen and just the house was in a disgusting and dirty state.
They will not fix the mold so expected to live with it or waste even more money paying for it.

I have been very impressed by the knowledge, attitude and effectiveness of Helena's team when I recently used their services to offer a small terraced house for sale in Lincoln.
From the first meeting to the conclusion of the project I could find no fault with everyone's professionalism, great communication by phone, email and text message.
I didn't think I'd be writing, unprompted, a positive review of an estate agent, but there's a first time for everything!! Fees were fair, too!!

She is still waiting, their excuse is that they need confirmation from the Landlord. My daughter is now incurring costs because of the lack of action on the Agents' part, the Landlord is apparently on holiday but the Landlord knew when my daughter was due to move out. I have worked in the Lettings sector myself and the deposit should have been returned by now. It is nearly a month. My daughter and son-in-law have contacted the Agents on numerous occasions, and today were told that the person they wanted to speak to was not there. They phoned Countrywide who I believe own the Agents who phoned the branch and spoke to the girl in question so it is clear that she is avoiding speaking to both my daughter and son-in-law. Do not rent through this Agent if you can avoid it. They don't follow up or return calls when they say they will. If I could have given less than one star review I certainly would have!!!

I myself tried to speak to them about this matter but despite having spoken to them before in connection with my daughter's tenancy (when they first moved in) they said that they were not permitted to speak to me.

Whilst costs were applicable... £330 Admin Fees £195 Tenancy Agreement Fees £75 Guarantor Fee They were not extortionate for the service offered. (Please note that these are the total combined fees of two tenants.) Darryl’s service was worth every penny!

He could not have been more helpful or supportive throughout the process- taking the time to ring us and update us frequently so we were never left not knowing what was going on!

From when the letting commenced in July 2017 we (tenants) have contacted Bairstow Eves dozens of times, by phone, email, and their online emergency/maintenance reporting system. All we have had in response are autoresponder emails of staff that have left. Problems such as boiler failure (reported 02/03/18) and a defect hot water tank heater (no heating and no hot water for 4 days in freezing weather conditions), water damage caused by a leak, etc. The issues are still not addressed till now, June 2018.

When you let through Bairstow Eves you are actually letting through Countrywide! They charged us over £400 in fees when setting up a 6 month tenancy agreement which we were told we would be able to renew when it expired, However at the end of the agreement we were told the landlord no longer wished to let the property, forcing us to find somewhere else to live. Bairstow Eves said if we let through them again we would be charged these fees again - even though the only change in our circumstances was that we had let through them for 6 months! We have found a property through another agent but have now discovered that Bairstow Eves also charge for providing the necessary reference for the new agent. Their fees are far in excess of other letting agents in the area and our new agent tells us that she does not know of any other agent that charge for providing references. I am completely disgusted with them and would never do business with them again!
