Real estate agents have a low bar, but Marsh & Parsons Notting Hill go below all possible expectations - they are the worst of the worst.
I let a property through them and they made endless mistakes, which caused me money, to which they wanted full pay. Pathetic. Trying to resolve anything with any common sense or decency was pointless, after many months of wasted time with the agency.

If there were an award for the most appalling letting agent experience, Marsh & Parsons would be the undisputed champion. My journey with them, from the hopeful beginnings of securing a rental property to the disillusioned end, has been nothing short of a nightmare. This review serves as a stark warning to anyone considering engaging with Marsh & Parsons for their letting needs.
From the outset, Marsh & Parsons demonstrated a level of incompetence and indifference that I had never encountered before. The property I was let was not only in a deplorable state upon move-in but also riddled with maintenance issues that were blatantly ignored by the letting agent. Despite repeated attempts to address these concerns through proper channels, my pleas for assistance and resolution were met with a combination of evasion, delay, and outright refusal to acknowledge the problems.
The supposed professional clean boasted in the tenancy agreement was a myth. The property's condition on my arrival was appalling, with evidence of neglect and dirt that no professional cleaning service could possibly have signed off on. When I raised this with Marsh & Parsons, expecting a responsible letting agent to rectify the situation, their response was to shuffle the responsibility onto the landlord, absolving themselves of any duty of care to their tenant.
But it doesn't stop there. Every attempt to engage with Marsh & Parsons on unresolved maintenance issues, from unsafe fixtures to left-behind belongings of previous tenants, was met with a staggering lack of accountability. Their customer service was non-existent, a facade masking an underlying disinterest in tenant welfare and satisfaction. The stark contrast between their advertised values and the reality of their service was not just disappointing; it was infuriating.
The final straw came when they blatantly disregarded their obligations under the tenancy agreement, pushing all responsibility onto the landlord and leaving me to navigate a sea of issues alone. Their hands-off approach in situations requiring their intervention was not only unprofessional but also deeply unethical.
In conclusion, my experience with Marsh & Parsons has been the worst letting agent ordeal imaginable. Their failure to uphold basic standards of service, accountability, and tenant care is alarming. I urge anyone considering using Marsh & Parsons for their rental needs to think twice. There are many agents out there who understand the meaning of customer service and responsibility—sadly, Marsh & Parsons is not one of them. My advice: steer clear and save yourself the trouble.

Do not deal with this agency who's slogan ironically is: 'The Only Way Is Ethics' they are in fact the dodgiest most corrupt bunch of crooks in the property market.
Channel 4 exposed them in an investigative documentary 'From Russia With Cash' when Leslie Marsh was filmed offering to turn a blind eye to a 'Russian Oligarch' who wanted to purchase a £15 million home in Chelsea but was 'unable to provide proof of funds' . This was clearly a set up by Channel 4 to catch out dodgy estate agents who accept money laundering clients.
Marsh and Parsons offer to find the 'oligarch' a lawyer who could set up an 'offshore company with complete discretion' Clearly colluding in fraud on a massive level.
It was a very revealing documentary and you can watch it here: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3ho0n1
Or by Googling 'From Russia With Cash".
How could you trust an estate agent with such very corrupt methods. I paid a deposit to this agent on a flat and fought for two years to get it refunded. Smooth talking snakes in a suit.
Their 'Chief of Finance' Chris Brand who was part of the corruption in the documentary, owns an apartment at 225 Hollylodge Mansion. He accommodates very anti social tenants. One tenant an aggressive 17 stone South African would ride her electric scooter back and forth at 2am along with her daughter. She would drop heavy items on the floor to disturb her elderly neighbours. When Camden Council approached Chris Brand he fobbed them off and could not care less.
This anti social tenant made life a misery for the elderly couple next door, both in their 80's. They had to contact the elder abuse depart of Age UK to intervene as the owner Brand not only could not care less he actively encouraged the abusive behaviour by his tenant.
Brand left Marsh and Parsons two years ago following many complaints and now works as chief of finance at Oritain.
His apartment is in a block that is 100 years old constructed from timber with very creaky floorboards. Brand has not installed carpet which is required by the council so the abuse by his anti social tenants is magnified by them stomping back and forth on the creaky floorboards, deliberately dropping heavy objects on the floor, and banging drawers loudly in their aggressive attempts to harass their elderly neighbours. The police have been involved with continual complaints from the elderly neighbours beside and below flat 225 Hollylodge Mansions.
Do not deal with such a corrupt dodgy company which hires chief accounts like Chris Brand employed by a company that turns a blind eye to criminal behaviours and dodgy Russian Oligarchs wanting to launder stolen money.
Watch the documentary and decide for yourself.!.

They have continuously lied to me, from having done inspections (which they had not and eventually when I inspected my property I realised this did not happen), to promising cleaning would be done prior to tenants arriving. Even providing clear instructions in terms of painting the walls in the same colour as before (they painted Grey when the walls were white), My view is if you want your property to become a pig sty with people who don't care, they are the right firm for you, otherwise, move away

All paperwork was handled incorrectly from the start, and they have disregarded all of my instructions regarding the terms of the agreement, renewals, payments, etc.
They have continued to be a pain in my tenant's and my back side, and we have no way of stopping them from trying to make extra money in all sorts of unscrupulous ways.
I agree with the reasons why others have left negative comments.

I had let my property through Marsh and Parsons for several years.
Last year the front door of the flat was left open but I thought it was the fault of the builders who were refurbishing the flat under the management of the agents. but when I asked the builders they said they didn't do it and that the agents were last to view the property. SO i asked them to remember to close and lock the front door ( which isn't an onerous task).
Then it happened again and I had to have stern words with them.
This year when letting the flat out to prospective viewers they left the front door open again and the tenant was none too please obviously! I had to remind them to be careful with the door to which they replied "the door sticks." Funny because noone else has had a problem but them.
So after repeated warnings - I found the front door when I did an unexpected check completely open with the light on. I have had to fire them. I should have realized that I should have fired them the first time around. I mean - do estate agents have to be reminded to close and shut the front door?
Completely surprising and I didn't think a competitive agents in a competitive area would commit such faux pas. Unbelievable. Plus one one person apolgized - the rest had an attitude problem. Even if they offered a discount I think it would be a false economy.

Marsh and Parsons at first, were extremely helpful, efficient and managed to get my flat found, signed and moved into within 3 days- This off course came with additional costs. Once I had moved into the rented property, Marsh and Parsons became increasingly unhelpful. There where all sorts of problems with the flat that all needed to be addressed- Non of the cooking appliances worked meaning only takeaways- a huge cost. It took over 2 weeks for Marsh and Parsons to organize someone to come in and fix this problem. Regarding the other problems I am still waiting for problems to be addressed 2 months after moving in.

They really are just after the money aren't they? We told them the exact type of people we wanted, they ignored us and stuck a family of four in our tiny terrace house. We wanted a 2 year lease but they gave them a 3 year one, we were overseas so they rushed it through (I'll admit that was our mistake in trusting them to do what we asked).
In terms of the wrong tenants they said they are not in breach of contract and there''s nothing we can do AND we are forced to pay them a finders fee for three years - for people we don't want.
i only hope someone reads this review and at least thinks twice about using this company.
