The best in Oxford. They are very cooperative and are helping in nature. The best part is they are very transparent in their policies. My mother and I were desperately looking for a property at the height of student move-in season (October), and found that the Oxford market was very competitive. This meant that most agencies were terrible at returning calls, keeping up communication, and were generally quite rude at time. College & County helped us find a new home and kept us up-to-date of the process throughout. They were sensitive to our needs and were understanding when some paperwork took longer no our side. 4 and not 5 stars, as the maintenance team has at time been slow to respond.

C&C has a reputation for predating upon students with minimal resources. Once they leave the UK and go back home, or if they are judged to be from a poorer background, the entire security deposit is seized with little to no justification, for 'redecoration' purposes usually.
We had lived in the flat for five years and had left it entirely undamaged, and we had to appeal the decision legally. We won in the end but it took months, and many other students will not have been able to do this and will have lost it all. It is not an uncommon story in Oxford, unfortunately - landlords have learned who can fight an unfair dispute and who cannot, and C&C advises them on how to do so.
Beware renting with C&C.

You have never let us down,have been conscientious; thorough, & supportive to both ourselves & our tenants in equal measure which allowed us to feel that we and our tenants were safe in your hands. We believe too that our tenants felt much the same so this made for a very comfortable relationship between landlord & tenant. You managed to achieve that so thanks to all your team. Giving College and County my properties to let was one of my best decisions as a landlord. College and County have transformed my view of letting agents, they are quick to respond to queries, they ensure all HMO and safety compliance is kept up to date, even when using my own contractors, and they have consistently found good tenants for me. They do regular property inspections, followed up with the same report copied to tenants and landlord outlining potential issues that need tenant or landlord attention before a problem evolves, this is enormously helpful in maintaining the tenant landlord relationship, and happy tenants tend to take better care of properties.

I switched to College and County from another estate agent in Headington after a sluggish and ineffective marking campaign for my well located, refitted and sun-filled apartment. The efficiency and professionalism of Lewis Stacey made all the difference. I am very impressed by College and County.
I changed to College and County because my previous agents were not vetting my tenants sufficiently and had appalling back office service dealing with leases.
College and County have given me a very professional service and found excellent tenants for all my properties. They are a very proactive agency, efficient and personable.
Their marketing is good: photography and property descriptions excellent, viewings and feed backs great.
They keep me up to date with any legislation that may affect me.
I am particularly impressed with the extremely comprehensive lease documents they produce and their attention to detail where a specific additional clause is appropriate for each individual property.
They are a great lettings team, their professional fees are reasonable and they know the lettings market inside out.

Complaints Procedure
We take any complaints very seriously. Should a problem not be resolved by the department head on the phone, all written complaints come straight to the managing director who will investigate in person and reply, having kept the complainant informed, when resolution is achieved.
