You have to talk to them over and over again for the same simple issues. They make a huge fuss out of really simple requests.
Lots of time wasted with really trivial matters.
They say one thing and then they don't do exactly what they said.
Apologising for making you waste time with the same issue is absent from the code of conduct of the staff.

This feedback is specifically for Bairstow eves Coventry branch. I would to like share my experience in terms of rental refund for previous property. Their staff is highly unprofessional, untrustworthy and unskilled. I did a complaint at their Nottingham head office but got a response in an apologetic way where they kept on defending their employees and procedures but didn't accept their mistake/errors. The way they calculate rental refund doesn't align with the practices of other agencies. They do not have any documentation or method to back their procedures. I would suggest that whenever the staff from Coventry commits something with you, please ask them to take notes on the system and email you with evidence. They have a different tone when they want something from you, and a different when you request them something. They forget things and then the tenant suffers in the end. They are so unprofessional that they say that the 'relevant staff is not available at this time or on sick leave so that investigation can be carried out'. Such a disappointment. Be aware!

Radford branch management in Coventry is turning away HSBC customers who have MGT DIP, based on subjective and false assumptions that the bank does not perform strong enough credit checks and that their DIPs can be forged. Clare Dawe, also said she knows what the DIP should look like as they arrange HSBC mortgages which again is incorrect as the bank only sell directly to customers. She then went on to say that HSBC does not perform strong enough checks compared to other banks, and even though I tried explaining they all do soft search only at the stage of obtaining a DIP, she was adamant that other banks do a full credit check at this stage contrary to HSBC practice to only do a soft search. Big concern for the company, as you can imagine how many HSBC MGT customers are nationwide which obviously are not wanted at your agency,as you believe the bank's procedures and documents are not good enough, and as stated by your agency can easily be falsified.

This estate agents is terrible. I have never been made to feel more uncomfortable when walking into a shop in my life. There was around 6 staff just chatting away then when I walked in they all just stared at me looking gone out and confused and more annoyed that I had interrupted the conversation than willing to help. I have no idea why I wasn't eagerly approached as there were no other customers in the shop at the time, instead I was made to feel incredibly awkward and put on the spot when asking to talk to someone about renting a property. I felt like a burden being there, luckily there was one girl who seemed slightly more professional than the rest who eventually offered to help. She was helpful but I still felt like the whole conversation was very rushed. Obviously I didn't end up renting through Bairstow Eves and I genuinely am not one to complain but I have just seen a friends Facebook status about Bairstow Eves in Coventry saying exactly this and telling people not to go there. Having had the exact same experience I felt the need to speak up on this one, more basic training is needed for all these staff, on how to be polite, friendly and making customers feel welcome.

Sadly, an agency that is dishonest and not necessarily ethical in its dealings. I happened to deal with this agency a few months ago, and made an offer to purchase a house, which was then accepted by the vendor. I then set in motion my conveyancing and mortgaging arrangements, but had to go overseas just for a few days, with the full knowledge of the vendor and the real estate agency. In the meantime however (just a couple of days later), the estate agency persuaded the vendor to accept an alternative offer from another buyer (presumably because the alternative offer did not involve any mortgage and the agency personnel could make their commission more quickly?). This was despite the fact the vendor was still keen to sell the house to me due to the commitment they had given me, but they were pretty much browbeaten into reneging on the agreement. This is not an estate agent that respects agreements (regardless of whether it is verbal or written), and it is certainly not one I will want to deal with in the future.

To start with the property which this agency was advertising was almost new and well furnished, therefore we didn't think too much and didn't search for feedbacks which was a mistake.
Firstly, the property presenter - Cara didn't know anything about the apartment. She said that bills should be low as the property is new, however when we then looked at the energy ratings it was E, which means the cost of bills is high. Also she was not aware that sofa staying in the living room is sofa-bed. And she mislead us saying it is just a sofa.
Nevertheless, we agreed to sign pre-document and to pay the first fee. I would not mention that we signed just a piece of paper whereas the original document was signed in the very end.
Next day Cara called asking to move a date of moving earlier as the apartment is ready to move in (the proposed date was one month from the date of signing the initial document). We conceded to move the date earlier on one week even we were losing 1/4 of the payment for the last month of our previous apartment as the notice period was one month and we agreed the date with previous landlord, who found a new lodger ready to move by this date.
One week before the expected date of movement this agent called saying that due to unreadiness of new landlord's documents they are not able to stick with the date written in the agreement and asking for the possibility to postpone moving in couple of weeks.
Having said it was only we who singed the contract therefore we could not claim anything and agreed to postpone the date of moving on two weeks. Luckily the previous landlord could agree with a new lodger too so we could stay in our previous place for two weeks more. Considering that the agency would amend the date of the moving anyway we asked for the possibility to include the renting of the parking slot to the agreement as we didn't have any prove of it. They turned down this request without an explanation, but offered a written confirmation from the agency.
Contract amendment had taken one week. We tried to call couple of times to hear any updated but Zee who was dealing with our case did not know anything.
Finally, we moved in by the new date, however the documents for the apartment were not ready yet, so we did it only thanks to a new landlord who is luckily turned out to be a very pleasant lady. Surely, the agency has not provided any written confirmation for a parking place yet and based on our experience they would not do this.
Summing up our moving was a nightmare and we could hardly spend nights on a street. It was sorted luckily thanks to both landlords only. In turns the agency was working like Chinese whispers and messing up the proper way of working. It's always seemed to us they don't want to cope with our case and several time ignored our calls and letters.
In two words - avoid it!
P.S. I'm pretty sure that they serve landlords quite good as having a lot of properties gives them money. Unfortunately it's not the case when it comes to dealing with tenants. Tell your friends to avoid it too if you care about them.

Shut down. After seeing the reviews above, I think its common for this company to fall short of providing a good service. If the good reviews are from genuine people, then I believe the odd good worker exists in their ranks.

Unsure whether it is normal for the manager (Claire Dawes), to handle the sale or if it is because Ashleigh was unable to carry on being awkward. Anyway, Claire was certainly pushing for the sale most likely for her commission which is understandable to an extent. However surely there is a limit. Tried bullying me into using their mortgage advisor by telling me the vendor insists it must be kept in-house? First I've heard of that. When she realised I was not falling for this lie she decided to put the pressure on with calls almost every other day just for an update! Upon questioning her on this behaviour I was told the vendor is concerned. Concerned about what? She had no real answer to that. Very unprofessional. I posted a letter through the vendors door who did actually reply back and was also very appalled at how the office operates. As a result he took his property off Bairstow's books and put it up with another agency located close to Bairstow. Unfortunately, somebody put a higher offer than me at this place. Had I lost money due to Claire & Co I would not hesitated to take action against them. For their sake, I hope my bitter experience is not a common trait.

Once we had agreed a sale the dates constantly changed and were told that even though we were on holiday that friends or family must move us whilst we were away otherwise the buyer would pull out! Surprisingly [sic] the buyer did not pull out when we said we couldn't move - it then transpires that the buyer wasn't ready anyway!!
Someone was lying to us!!
We will never use Bairstow Eves again and I am sorry but you will not be recommended.
There is a plus though, David and James at the Coventry branch are extremely professional and were also at a loss as to why the dates we were originally given constantly moved & why we were told about the buyer threatening pull out, and treated this way. Mary at Countrywide was also very courteous and professional throughout
