Julian Piku has really been amazing throughout the stressful process of trying to find and buy a place in London. Multiple attempts fell through but through his tenacity and going the extra mile to find me the perfect place within my tight timeframe, Julian finally helped me get into my new flat in Putney. I've been letting my flat through Lauristons for about 15 years and have been generally satisfied with the service but in recent months they have been absolutely amazing. We've had a really nasty experience with a trouble-making, rude and unreasonable tenant and Alexandra managed it brilliantly. She's been completely professional, level headed, clear and communicative throughout, with the tenants and me. Bad. I would rather donate all the money I paid them to charity and not to them. They didn\'t do their jobs and just keep lying I have spent hundreds of hours to ask them to remove landlord\'s personal stuff and dangerous furniture that could severely harm my 1 year old baby.

Their manager emailed me and told me that we don't have to pay and then after 1 year, they took it. They charge £780 damage fee to what I don't even know what was damaged. They never sent me the check-out inventory report and provide no evidence to steal your money. The most disgusting part is they ask me to pay for the check-out inventory fee and I have never received one. Dishonest and unethical.

The level of the service we have received has been embarrassing and incredibly poor, and when there are so much money involved plus the fees they charge, this is even more frustrating. Initially I was quite enthused by so many good reviews and confident we would've received a fair treatment, but apparently most of those are clearly fake, not real customers. I am an international professional in the B2C industry and I have lots of knowledge and experience on customer experience and service, and for sure this is another example of the worst kind ever.

The worst letting agency I have ever come across.
If you are looking for a professional, efficient, understanding and helpful letting agency, then Lauristons is not the letting agency for you and may I advice you to run the other way.. far far away. James' description in his review from the 4th of August 2017 is very fitting, âIncompetence, laziness, lack of transparency, insincerity and, at times, plain rudeness, are the main things that spring to mind.â
There has been nothing but problems since moving in to the flat. Heavy mould and damp in the entire flat, excessive cold, no hot water in the taps. Upon informing the letting agency about these issues, the property manager told me that I should have identified these issues myself during my viewing and that it was my problem and my fault. Isn't that something for reassurance that Lauristons cares for their tenants? The property manager is accusing the newly moved in tenant for pre-existing issues in the flat.
The flat is in such bad condition that I've had to contact the Environmental Health Department at the council in order to get Lauristons to take adequate actions with the problems in the flat.
On top of all of this, I have now been completely without heating in the flat for almost a week in the middle of winter. I have sent numerous emails to Lauristons explaining that this of course is an urgent matter to sort out. The property manager has chosen to not answer my emails or completely ignoring to answer me back after promising to get in touch with me. This is considered a class 1 hazard according to UK regulations and is something that requires immediate action, yet here I am almost a week after reporting the issue without any answers as to when this will be repaired.
I certainly do not recommend Lauristons as a letting agency.

Review about Lauristons lettings team. While the reviews for the sales team have been very positive overall, the same cannot be said for their lettings team. Incompetence, laziness, lack of transparency, insincerity and, at times, plain rudeness, are the main things that spring to mind.
The representative managing our property changed three times during our tenancy. Not a problem in itself, however, not once were we informed of the change or given new contact details. House issues had to be repeated numerous times to different employees (didn't really look like there was any office communication). When we did manage to get in touch to report any problems with the house the replies we got were completely disingenuous.
When asking for an update into our fourth week with a broken dishwasher we were asked Why don't you wash your plates in the sink?. When we called to ask for an update regarding a new boiler after living in a freezing house for two weeks we were told, you should have bought electric heaters and billed them to us. When all our showers stopped working we were told (at the end of a week of no hot running water) to shower in the gym or at our friends' houses. So just a few examples of a complete disregard and disinterest in managing the property. If all these answers came from the same property manager then I would put it down to one employee and not Lauristons, but these answers came from a variety of Lauristons Reps.
Emails went unanswered more often than not, calls were hardly returned, messages were not passed on.
Of course, an agency is only working on behalf of the Landlord and it his ultimately his/her decision whether repairs go ahead so delays to repairs and replacements were partially down to Landlord negligence. That said, not once did the agency even try to give of an impression that they remotely cared.
If you view a property managed by Lauristons, walk away…

I thought Foxtons were the worst State agents in London until I met Lauristons. I will summarise my experience as a Landlord using their services: 1. Miscommunication between tenants and Landlords' needs-meaning they are only chasing the fee and don't care about both parts' needs so my relationship with my tenants started in a very bad way as they were promised/assured things I never agreed (removal of pieces of furniture), unfortunately that was only the beginning 2. First month I realised they charge me for things I never contracted (they even produced invoices), I didn't get the refund until several months after (and lots of phone calls and getting really angry) 3. Every time there is something to repair they sent really expensive contractors so you have to end up making sure you are paying market price and not being rip-off- They sent someone to repair my dishwasher (almost �400), so I ended up buying a new dishwasher and arranging everything myself although I'm paying them to manage my property (when you cancel the service you have to pay them for 3 months more of torture) 4. They authorised a repair without my consent and I am supposed to pay for it because (they are very sorry but) it is already done 4. The property manager disappeared one day, I was never introduced to the new property manager. I found out in one of my usual phone calls to complain regarding all the issues 5. Customer service is terrible (apart for very few exceptions), it is really difficult contacting them in the phone 6. The worst part of this stressful experience is how unprofessional they are, the amount of excuses I received (even related with medical conditions of the staff)- the Head of Compliance told me they couldn't process a refund because key personnel from Accounts got a cancer (!!!) If I could I'll give them 0 stars, I had a terrible time. I wish I read some of the reviews before. If you are a landlord, avoid them!!!

Extremely disappointed tenant said about Lauristons

As a tenant i would advise to be careful and prepared when using this agent. They will try their best to charge extortionate fees such as checkout / break clause / renewal / check in / cleans. I would recommend negotiating these costs before signing. During the tenancy it was a difficult exercise to have anything repaired or replaced as it would take numerous emails and contact to get any headway. We had a severe leak 3 months before the end of the tenancy that they avoided to fix until we left. Prepare for a battle for your deposit as they will try to get as much as they can. I would make sure upon entry or signing a contract you've negotiated the fees down significantly, taken plenty of photos moving in and to keep email evidence of all issues and contract breaches they make as they will have no mercy at the end when claiming from your deposit. The customer service is also poor and it makes you feel lucky just to get a response.

I chose Lauristons to sell my two-bedroom flat in Clapham SW4. On the whole the agents were friendly and helpful. I felt that the original agent was quite forward in his attempts to get me to sign with Lauriston but I was happy to go with them anyway and this didn't put me off. He worked very hard to get buyers in and I got an offer of full asking price straight away. The flat didn't even need to be listed on Rightmove, it sold so quickly. All went fine through the process until the buyers reduced their offer part-way through the process. I expected that the fee I would pay Lauristons would be reduced but they were adamant that it was a fixed fee. This issue was largely caused by the original agent having left the branch. I made a complaint and the branch manager was very quick to get back to me and we met halfway. In the end I sold my flat for 1.74% under the original asking price.

I have both let and sold a property through Lauristons, and I have to commend Patrick Molyneux-Child on his professionalism and courteous tenacity. He took ownership of the sale when it had been left in the doldrums, and oversaw it successfully through to completion. I am very grateful to him for all his hard work and efficiency. He is a rare gem in a company that I have otherwise found to be disappointing, disorganised, unprofessional and at times simply dishonest. The internal departments do not seem to communicate with each other well at all. I hope they value Patrick M-C, because I would have taken my business elsewhere were it not for him.
