A&H had to deal with one of the most difficult, awkward and obtuse sellers ever, my ex-wife. Despite her offending most of the team, they stuck with it, through thick and thin, and pushed the sale over the line. They were always brilliant, friendly and professional with me. Rachel Harris was my property co-ordinater whilst I was a tenant with Allen & Harris. I had huge problems with getting my deposit released after the end of my tenancy due to the landlord ignoring all contact from the agency. Rachel was persistent in helping me solve this; repeatedly trying to make contact with the landlord several times a week & going beyond to get the deposit back to me as soon as possible. Excellent customer service.

Horrendous agent, would not recommend them to anyone!!!! Been renting the same property for 14 years, every 6 months having a house inspection. Been saying got problems for last two years but nothing ever done and then when I pursue the issue after running independent report I get a few emails of which clearly shows lies and more lies,everyone covering their own backs. The report shows extensive problems, including rising damp.
I decided to leave, paid referencing fees and heard nothing, only when I did ring to get key on date I found out the true extent of their lies, 'all the checks have been completed the landlady is away you can definitely move next weekend'
That following week I was swamped with emails and it turned out not one check had been completed!!!!!!
I was told unable to move, I asked them if I could not move what are they going to do about my present house and was informed my house is like a car so it may as well be scrapped so keep paying the rent and everyone happy, of course when I complained the person who said this denied all knowledge!!!!!
I pressed the issue about my current housing problems being promised call back after call back but nothing unless I chased them.
I received two months notice early on this week and so went to the letting agents only for Matthew to deny all knowledge of knowing this, spoke to Owen who informed he had told Matthew via email. Owen promised me he would call back to see how they can help me find new place but that never happened either.
Overall their customer services is shocking and they all cover their own backs.
After 14 years of never defaulting on a payment they could at least be honest with me!!!!

We decided to use Allen & Harris after interviewing several agents. We were impressed with the assertive marketing approach as discussed with Steven Harrington. They also pitched the price 10-15% above what other agents recommended. We asked are you confident of this price? Oh yes was the reply. The draft particulars were rather boring so we did quite a lot of work to improve them. The photos were not well considered. Some showed the neighbour's house exterior as much as ours. The internal shots were at strange angles.
They planned an open house saying that this would create maximum interest and competition amongst the potential buyers. We were told they had 5-6 qualified prospective buyers lined up with appointments. Only 1 turned up on the day. This didn't progress because the price was pitched too high. In the following weeks, there were no potential buyers. In week 3, they recommended a substantial decrease (which brought it down to similar to what the other agents suggested). By this time, we had lost all trust in their ability to sell the property.

In all, we lost the impact of a new property to market and lost a month of selling time. I would not use them again.

We wanted to rent a new place. Found one that we liked on Rightmove.co.uk. It was listed by Allen & Harris (A&H).

What a horrible experience! They very quickly wanted the referencing deposit and whatnot paid - which we duly obliged. A week later, we have not heard anything back from them. No contact from the so-called referencing company, no forms to fill, despite telling them our names empteen times, they get it wrong, no response to e-mails, never in when we call and no callback, etc.

We now have to start the whole process again.

STAY AWAY!!!!!

Absolutely terrible, was a tenant and had relationship troubles which meant I could no longer stay there. When I was living there I complained about various items needing to be fixed none of my calls were returned or answered and now it is time to get my deposit back and they are saying I can't due to some issues of which hanging pictures. Christine said it was fine and I have a witness but she is now back tracking which is terrible and I would never ever rent of this company again.
