I rented a property through Haart and when it came to getting the deposit back they didn't want to know. They never once pro-actively contacted me and everytime contacted them for updates which I felt forced to do regularly via email and telephone, I only ever received generic and non-committal responses with various excuses as to why the process was taking so long (i.e. it took 4 weeks apparently for head office to contact my local branch for information of my contract).
These excuses ultimately came as a result of no inventory being done when I moved into the property and according to the previous tenants who I managed to speak to, no report checkout report being done with them either when they left the property. After two months of constant chasing and no sign of the deposit, I raised a dispute with a 3rd party named the TDS who returned my full deposit to me within 2 weeks.
I later found out that without a checkout report, Haart had no legal right to retain any of my money which is why the full deposit was returned to me without any further questions after the TDS established that the checkout report did not exist.
I would never use Haart again and I wouldn't recommend their services to anyone.
