I would give ELR Sheffield lettings a minus 10 star if I could. Avoid this agent at all costs. They waste you time. They knew they are letting the property to someone else, but still insist you go there to have in-person viewing. They reject virtual viewing. Then, when you called them back, they simply would not tell you that the property is already let, and told you that you would have to wait to hear back from them. The second time, they lied that the owner is giving the property to his family member and decided to take it off the market, but you only find out a few days later that it is let agreed. Absolutely disgusting agent.

Just sold our property eventually didn't feel like was kept in loop also felt like they was working for the buyer not us the people who was paying the bill !! Told 1% commission inc vat but with all the speal we had vat aswell when brother signed it never got altered so hence having pay another £400 I would not recommend them at all stay well clear

Really impressed with the service from ELR. James was relentless in finding us the house we had been looking for and has negotiated things quickly to ensure our purchase moves through smoothly. Diane and Liz have been really helpful and supportive with our house sale. We have been kept up to date throughout. Highly recommend.

We were told by ELR that they had discussed it with the landlord twice and essentially that it was ours to live in from the agreed date, only to be told later that the landlord had decided in the last 12-24 hours to rent the property to a friend instead. We, in the meantime, had cancelled other viewings and are left with little time to look for alternatives.

After viewing a property to rent with ELR we were clear with them that we wanted to take the property on multiple occasions. We were told by ELR that they had discussed it with the landlord twice and essentially that it was ours to live in from the agreed date, only to be told later that the landlord had decided in the last 12-24 hours to rent the property to a friend instead. We, in the meantime, had cancelled other viewings and are left with little time to look for alternatives.
We were informed via email and when we did call ELR the member of staff was unapologetic and offered no help in rectifying the situation, instead defending the landlord as a 'good' client.
We feel have been deliberately misled by both ELR and the landlord. Perhaps most frustratingly, there is a lack of consequences for this kind of malpractice.
We have seen that all other reviews of ELR available are also terrible and will resolve to do our research before dealing with a letting agent in future.

Negligent check out of last tennant. No rep went to property before completing check out and returning deposit to tennant. Returned from abroad hoping to put the house on the market with them to find inside and outside of house full of last tennants rubbish, including a mouldy saucepan on the hob and house not cleaned. Representative suggested going to property to put rubbish in wheelie bin when it would have filled 3! Back door key also not returned by tennant which will require new lock to be fitted. Unpaid utility bills also unresolved. No follow up from the company to bring to resolution. Very disappointing and upsetting.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
