Our recent experience with this real estate agency was extremely negative. Despite providing all necessary details, including that we have two children, we were invited to view a house in Poole on very short notice. We undertook a grueling seven-hour drive from Liverpool to Poole with the hope of finding a suitable home.
Although we liked the house, it lacked a garden, so we recommended it to a couple of our friends who are also moving to Poole from Liverpool. Our friends, eager to secure a home before their move at the end of August, promptly traveled to Poole to view the property.
However, after returning to Liverpool, our friends were informed by the agency that the owner does not accept children. This critical information should have been communicated from the outset to avoid wasting our time and resources.
The handling of this situation was utterly inefficient and unprofessional. Both families experienced unnecessary inconvenience, stress, and wasted effort due to the agency's lack of basic communication and organization.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against using this real estate agency. Their incompetence and failure to communicate essential information demonstrate a level of service that is simply unacceptable. This experience warrants a very negative evaluation and a caution to others considering their services.

They deserve zero stars. A bad, shocking, and unprofessional experience from the branch manager Anna and her assistant Ella.
They forged a contract and handed it to us - after we had signed a different one, they added that we had to pay professional cleaning costs on vacation of property. They later admitted doing this.
The apartment was flea infested, our wounds were infected with over 30 bites on each of our bodies - the apartment was fumigated.
Electricity supply was live and open with no door or box covering it.
There was mould in cupboards.
And all this with our 2 year old daughter moving in with us.
They agreed after many weeks (& Rokil evidence and doctors) to allow us to break the contract and urgently leave the property.
However Anna refused our key return (when we dropped into the office as agreed). We needed to pay a lawyer to verify that we had given the keys back to them Presumably a ploy to keep us paying for rent and bills - for an apartment unfit for human habitation.
Then tried to withhold our deposit, for many months - we had to go to arbitration to finally get it returned to us.
As for their complaints procedure at Countrywide - they have continually ignored most of our complaints, and not taken any responsibility for poor and shocking service.

One of the worst agencies I came across. Have paid £600.00 agency fees in Jan 2019 for two people and service what has been received is not even worth a penny!
Flat has been advertised furnish or unfurnished. We have agreed to keep the furniture. Once we moved in there was no furniture. Immediately contacted the agency we have been told that the flat was advertised unfurnished! Have asked for a copy of the advert which has been taken of from the market. They couldn’t provide it for some reason (lies). Spoke with landlord and he said it was so much hassle for him to remove the furniture from the flat and it’s a shame we didn’t want it furnished!
We have moved out two weeks ago and there’s no updates about our deposit back! It needs to be chased by us! Shocking!!!

Awful Estate Agent that refused to provide details of the property unless I conditionally registered with them so they could market their mortgage/insurance products despite me advising I needed none. Repeated requests made just for the property particulars but all requests refused. Now writing to the vendor to advise them just what their agent is doing to promote the sale...precisely nothing! In fact quite the oposite. Shocking!

Probably the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Never reachable, very difficult to get them to organise viewings. Very keen on taking your money and very reluctant to do any work. They fabricated 'evidence' they used against us and we ended up pulling out of renting a property from them and leaving our deposits behind. In May 2012, we visited a property with Palmer Snell and fell in love with it. We were keen on waiting at least a day or two to think about it, especially since one of the housemates could see it the next day as they could not be there for the first viewing. The agent pressured us into paying a very large 'holding fee' which we thought was just a fee to remove the property from the market but found out later that this initial fee also included the credit checks. It is worth mentioning that at that point we had not signed anything nor officially provided any information regarding our employment status as nothing had been ask from us, meaning that the agent had no way of knowing if we were suitable for the property. There was always going to be 4 of us moving into the property we paid a deposit for and the agent lied to the landlords, telling them there would only be three of us. Leaving us to deal with the consequences when we were always clear about the number of people who were to live in the property. We paid a very large deposit for a house and supplied them with all the information they requested for the credit checks. All our information came back positive and our checks were cleared. The agent however, deemed that the information we had supplied for those checks were contradicting information we had orally given them when we had first visited the property when we did not provide them with any information as they did not ask us any questions. We were never asked the type of employment contracts we were on but still filled in some preliminary forms that we, customers never go to see nor sign. When everything started to unravel and then agent turned to the landlord telling them we had been lying all along, they showed said forms to the landlords and presented them as proof that we had not been honest. Again, these are forms we never filled in, never saw and never signed. All the meanwhile we were trying to organise a viewing so that the 4th person of our group could visit the house as they had not been able to see it when we first saw it. After two weeks of trying to get in touch with Palmer Snell and the agent being unreachable the 4th person decided to pull out stating that they did not want to deal with an agent that was so reluctant to let us view a property we had paid so much money for it. Finally, the remaining three of us ended up pulling out and losing out deposit as we were so worried of having to deal with such crooks. The goodwill gesture considering how bad their service had been would have been to refund us the deposit or at least part of it. We did ask them for this and they flat out refused. As we had proof for everything that had happened in the form of emails and letter, we went to their parent company, CountryWide, who flat out refused to speak to us. This goes to show that we were probably best off not dealing with such people. I have never been treated so poorly by any service provider ever. We have since then found another place with another agent who has been nothing but approachable, reachable and incredibly efficient in solving any issues we may have had. I have also met another three people who had dealt with Palmer Snell and encountered problems after problems.

What agent could do to change your mind?
They should have taken action against maintenance problems.

From a tenant's POV - a really awful agent. I wasn't told about the renewal fee for my contract and wasn't given the option of a 12 month contract in the first instance, so imagne the lovely surprise I had when a letter landed on my doorstep after 6 months telling me that I had to pay another £125 to stay in my home.
I have no idea what the agency fees I paid them are used for - their maintenance department is utterly useless and it takes many phone calls for them to take action, if they ever do. No one in any of the departments I've spoken to seems to give a damn. If I didn't like my flat and the location so much I would not be staying with them - after my current contract expires I will not be renewing it with Palmer Snell and I will never be using their services again.
