Thats on top of them being extremely unhelpful through the tenancy when it came to issues with the gas metre. Terrible communication. Now they are trying to keep part of my deposit despite breaking the law by allowing someone in.

Excellent service from all of the staff at Miles & Barr Ramsgate who were originally just assisting me with finding a new home. Really bad discriminatory estate agent. They have let me down every time I have wanted to buy a Georgian property in Spenser square in Ramsgate during the last 5 years. My husband and I have used Miles and Barr Ramsgate a number of times and been happy with the service. They work at weekends - which is something not all Thanet estate agents do - and that is one of the reasons why we've used them in the past.
We had experienced some issues with the sales progression last time round, but the sales team member we saw assured us that we could expect careful follow up this time, and she was proved right.
The marketing details looked good, we had lots of viewings (although we had to chase the office a few times for feedback) and the property eventually sold.
Miles & Barr Ramsgate were professional, helpful (coming up with a good builder when we needed one in an emergency) and even went to check on the property (which was empty) after a spell of cold weather.
We would certainly go back.

One example of many is when I put an offer on a flat there. When I viewed it it was dark and there was no electricity so I couldn't see any defects. We could not find the boiler and so this became a sticking point and I was promised the boiler would be located and photos would be sent to me by Giuseppe . Not only did he not do this, on the day that I made a special trip from london to view the flat again and stipulated I had to see the boiler in order to continue with buying it I arrived to find a member of staff still none the wiser where this boiler was. They hadn't even bothered to locate it in my absence so that they were ready for me when I got there. We had a total wasted trip and also discovered there was a massive damp patch from floor to ceiling that Giuseppe hadn't even bothered to inform us about even though he was aware we had viewed in the dark. I have a good relationship with all the other estate agents yet Stuart is blind to the fact that people get angry for a reason and when they are continuously messed around had have wasted journeys from london because they continuously kept 'forgetting ' to book in the properties you asked to view and never bothered to call you and let you know a thing or return calls and then are sarcastic and arsey when you point out to them they've wasted your time that you will want to scream and shout at the staff who have created such a nightmare for you - that it is normal to want to do this when you are fuming with their laxidazy attitude and rudeness.
Christian Miles needs to start paying more attention and start realising M&B have a terrible reputation and some of their staff are very arrogant.
Harry annoyed the hell out of me at one point but we managed to draw a line and start again on a better footing . Anne Marie was a star and an asset. Alex has lied about me and Giuseppe has come across as incompetent and unprofessional time and time again making promises to improve his service then repeating the exact same thing you told him had annoyed you again and again.
Stuart Barr needs to wake up and see that people don't get annoyed for no reason and when you get on fine with all other agents who care far more then is obvious who's to blame.

Two days later we discovered the house wasn't even available. A sale had been proceeding for months and a successful survey had been done 5 days prior to our visit. Having had previous experience of phone calls not being returned we were determined to get answers about how this had happened. We spoke to one of the directors who said he would call us back the following day. Needless to say he didn't.

Feedback was patchy on the odd occasions we did have viewings (if we were lucky enough to get any at all). We got the impression that the staff didn't seem to know a great deal about the prospective buyers they were sending round or indeed a great deal about us. On one occasion they sent a buyer round without having informed us first. Both my husband and I work shifts and had specifically requested to be told of all viewings.
We changed estate agents and have had more viewings in one day than we did in the sixteen weeks with Miles and Barr! The real coup-de-grace came when M and B called today to tell us they had a viewing for us! This is despite us giving written notice that we would be leaving AND me going to the branch to collect and sign for our keys TWO WEEKS AGO!!

What agent could do to change your mind?
They could actually care, Im not sure how they rest at night knowing they home people with rats and mould on the walls.

There was a rat in my property - no one came to kill it. I had to do it myself.
The plumbing under the sink leaks.
Was told I paid a quarterly utility bill - it's actually a key meter (I specifically asked to avoid these properties)
Didn't take down their 'to let' sign for well over a month after I asked them to take it down.
Took me ages to get them to sort the tv aerial which was broken I found after moving in.

We tried to sell our property through Miles and Barr last year. Huge waste of time.
The person we were dealing with never contacted us to let us know what was happening, and never gave us feedback from our viewings. Things were very slow for months, and they never suggested we lower our asking price (which we were more than willing to do as we told them we wanted a quick sale). They just ignored us completely - I think they even forgot we were on their books. The person we were dealing with then left and we were passed onto someone else who was just as incompetent. We were promised regular updates and feedback when we signed up with them and it never materialised. We came back from holiday to find 2 voicemail messages asking us to show people around (despite telling 3 separate people exactly when we were on holiday and leaving the keys with them).
We moved to another agent and got 2 different offers within a few weeks. Miles and Barr wasted almost 3 months of our time, but because we were new to selling, we didn't realise quite how bad the service was. Dreadful.....
