Fees like most agents, the word scam comes to mind. This company state that if references fail they will keep your referencing fees plus your holding deposit which is a full months rent. That is likely to be over £1000 just for applying for a property.

I am appalled at the way you run a business. I never got so much as a phone call or email or anything after visiting and giving me a Valuation !! Or a confirmation of taking on my property. On top of that you left my patio doors wide open, in full view of everyone in the street and at the time of the 'Beast from the East' I could have had burst pipes. Anyone could have got into the property. I would never use you again !!!

Possibly the worst agents in the area. Viewed property on Thursday, offered asking price which was accepted Friday morning. Fitted all sellers needs as we had no chain and they had been let down and needed quick sale.
So Monday arrives and a short call to be told unless you increase your offer you will lose property, and it was our mortgage advisors fault because he didn`t answer their calls. End of call and property lost.
Advisor very annoyed as he had no mail or calls from them all weekend. He sent enquiry and has had no reply.
I think the word is gazumped, and we have found out this agent seems to have a reputation for this. Not how business should be done.

I found their behaviour totally unacceptable and will lodge a formal Complaint.
Don't sale your house with them!!

I would be pretty upset if my own property was being marketed in this way, as they seem to be confused and not know what they have on the market, they can't answer questions, they seem to fail to add EPCs and when you ask for the... What agent could do to change your mind?
Start complying with EPC regulations. Answer prospective buyers questions, be organised and communicate better.

I called and enquired about a property for sale, and was asked 'what number is it, we have a few for sale on that road'. Listings don't show house numbers, so how could I answer? I told him the price and number of bedrooms, but that didn't seem to be enough. In the end I ended the call as I was getting nowhere, and he didn't really seem concerned that a prospective buyer was getting away, even though I told him I have an offer on the property I'm selling, ie I'm ready to buy. I feel sorry for the people that are trying to sell through these agents.

This has to be the very worst agent ever. We were shown around the property by Zara who was on her mobile texting the entire half hour viewing, and she said not a word! I put an offer in on the property and rang 5 days later to find out about it, and was met with "is it about the property" wtf? Then I was informed the offer wasn't put forward as their company like to know you have a mortgage offer (AIP) before putting an offer forward, again wtf? Since when do agents take it upon themselves to be so selective, and more importantly why wasn't I informed of this anomaly when i placed the offer, and then wait 5 whole days to find out. I am so pleased the seller removed this agent as their selling agent. There is some justice. I looked at another property with another branch, and sorry to say a similar lackadaisical experience ensued with them. This was with their Hayling Island branch, total mis description of the property with a negotiator called David. I have written to Steve Barr and I have informed The Property Ombundsman of this dire agent. I am now mail shooting properties direct in the hope of finding my new home.

Had a viewing on a lovely property this morning. When I mentionned who it was on with while in the staffroom at work, I got a loud "oooohhh" followed by advice to "avoid like the plague". However, I thought I'd make up my own mind so I went along to the viewing. The woman did not know the answer to any question I had about the property. She couldn't even tell me if the landlord was male or female. She was very quick to tell us we had to pay £100 EACH for "processing fees" which seems a little extortionate. She wasn't sure where the gas meter was and couldn't show us the inside of the garage or shed. She also told me the property had only been empty for a week when the dust and cobwebs told another story. Sorry landlords but if you're property is on with Miles and Barr it already has a mark in the "against" column for us.

First of all I called Miles and Barr to arrange a viewing of a property for myself to buy in margate. They said thats fine and we arranged a time (2:30) to meet so that we could go inside and view the property. I drove all the way down from gravesend (50 miles) and even got down there well early. 2:30pm came around and went so I called them using my own phone and credit only to be told were sorry but we havent got the keys. So firstly they should of known the situation with the keys while i was on the phone to them the first time around, or even of called me before I left from gravesend/before we was due to meet at least 20 minutes before and said were sorry but we cannot find the keys. I had no phone call so they didnt even have the decency to ring me like a typical estate agent that never rings you back but when i did get through to them they said the person who has the keys is working in canterbury till 5pm and can you wait until then. Obviously we couldnt and I found the communication and whole experience unnecessary and appalling. It was a good job I didnt book the day off and lose pay because I would of been even more angry, although it was bad enough using £25 worth of petrol and doing a 100 miles round trip. They are an absolutely disgrace and I will never use them again.
