The service during our tenancy was poor
We were left without central heating for 2 weeks during December.
One of the bedrooms (box room) heating never worked
Similarly in the downstairs room (classed as bedroom4) the heating never worked.
In winters we used electric heaters and my son developed asthma. Their response was it’s an old house, heating system can not heat every room.
Joe mcgregory is unpleasant particularly when he wanted to deduct our entire deposit. The house was spotless and their own letting agent including tenants said so when they showed the house for re let.
Whoever took on the new tenancy with them I feel sorry for.
It took alot of personal stress on me their rudeness and the deposit issues and in the end I took it to adjudication … and got less than £100 deducted. Thank god for fair and independent deposit schemes.
An extremely unpleasant chapter of my life with the cold rooms and particularly checkout. To add, they used a different inventory company at check out to check in, and there was no fair and like to like comparison.

Generally a very good service, checkout and deposit returned fairly and squarely. Had to go through a 3 monthly 'inspection' of the property which M&P demanded conduct at their convenience whether we were present or not which was invasive and very poor form I would echo other... Read Full Review

I would echo other reviews that staff can be abrasive, but its easy to be rude back and ultimately, we were treated properly on checkout and the deposit returned in a timely manner which is what most tenants are concerned about, so 4 stars

If you want poor service, don't want your deposit back and want to be spoken to extremely rudely whenever making communication then these are the guys for you. The distinct lack of professionalism and the way staff reply to your emails, like they are 14 year old keyboard warriors on twitter, is astounding. If you'd like your deposit back at the end of the tenancy then you can near on forget that. A host of made up reasons will be thrown at you. If you dare dispute it then things are made extremely tough for you and you will get a barrage of bullying and passive aggressive emails thrown your way until you cave in. Have rented a number of different properties over the last 10 years and have never had a bad word to say about any of the agents. Top work Martin and pole.

What agent could do to change your mind?
not been rude, not shouted at me when i asked reasonable questions, protected my deposit when my contracts changed, read and replied to my letters, not charged me for things included in the inventory when i moved in. pretty much every dealing i had with them from start to finish was unsatisfactory

When we left the property we were charged unreasonable charges from our deposit, (including some that were already listed in the inventory when we moved in, and others that affected the whole building.)
when questioned as to why our deposit hadn't been placed in a deposit protection scheme when our contract was changed I was shouted at, and then ignored.
I understand that the landlord is a customer, and they work for him, but I am also a customer and I do not feel I got fair treatment here. id never rent using them again. Pretty much every dealing i had with them from start to finish was unsatisfactory

Rude person 'assumed; that I was on housing benefit because I am a female with two children! The advert mentioned good schools nearby to the property that I was requiring further details on but apparently the landlord had been very direct in the fact that children were not welcome! Not have had so many assumptions as I thought that sales was all about questioning and finding out needs and requirements.
