Due to new deposit laws letting agents can only take a certain amount now so they refunded me the difference from what I paid a couple of years ago. Due to new deposit laws letting agents can only take a certain amount now so they refunded me the difference from what I paid a couple of years ago. Somehow they have miscalculated this and instead of telling em this they sent me an overdue rent notice despite this being paid in full and early like I do every month. I get mistakes happen (even though they seem to happen daily to these thief's) all I want is them to apologise for their mistake instead of passing the blame to the customer as per.

There is a reason they have been taken to court, they are cowboys. AVOID.

Renewing tenancy which I signed, then they up the amount saying it was an error and blamed me for not reading the contract despite them also signing it. I am happy to sign the new contract as it is clear they made a huge error the first time round however expecting me to sign whilst on holiday and drop everything for them is so unfair. I don't expect to be hung up on and abused by a letting agent.

They have been nothing but trouble and I would avoid using them. You only need to look at the press to see they were in court and finned for stealing from landlords.

Says it all! To reiterate what other reviews have said, in our limited experience with Meridian I found the staff to be extremely unprofessional and disorganised.
Agent failed to show up for an appointment and then had the gall to lie and say that he showed up to the property but left after 5 minutes "as per procedure" when he didn't see us. This was after we had called up earlier the same day to confirm the appointment time. At no point did the agent (Gareth) apologise; rather his tone was argumentative as if we were wasting his precious time trying to clarify the situation! Glad we avoided doing business with this outfit.

Been renting many years and can honestly say never had experience like with Meridien. Been renting many years and can honestly say never had experience like with Meridien.
Taking ages to sort out repairs and have essential maintenance issues sorted out as well as refusing to have certain works done leaving us with a shabby property that we were paying premium rent for!
Upon leaving we were hugely ripped off even though tenants were found to replace us and we were returned a small portion of our deposit and they kept our money for themselves.
Currently in process of seeking legal action against them to recover our money as we have legally been advised their charges and the amount of money taken from us is unreasonable and hugely excessive.
Would NEVER recommend this company unless you want to be ripped off, in fact I will tell everyone in the area who I know to AVOID this estate agents. Would give zero stars if I could. This agents has left us hugely out of pocket and in very difficult circumstances.

Meridian treated us unfairly and mis-sold the flat (letting the flat) to us.
We rented a flat in Bournemouth town center and moved into the new flat on 1st June,2015 and discover cat fleas bite on the 2nd days we moved in. (Link for the photos and video https://flic.kr/s/aHske4wsLYl ).
When we do the flat viewing, a cat was in the flat and the agent told us that no pets are allowed in the flat and the previous tenant only looked after it temporarily. Also on our tenancy agreement, if we bring any pets into the flat we need to have the flat professionally cleaned with de-infestation and provided the receipt to prove the cleaning.
Now the agent denied all the faults. And every time they offer us solutions makes us feel inferior. They claimed we already entered the tenancy and the fleas problem is our problem. They claimed they did not see any fleas when they did the check after the previous tenant moved out and it is not our business to check if the previous tenant have done the cleaning. We asked for the receipt to prove that the flat was cleaned with de-infestation but the agent cannot provide the proof. Also they said it is not necessary for every tenant to clean the flat with de-infestation before the new tenancy if they checked the flat is clean.
We complained and requested the full agent fee (�300), deposit ( one month rent) and all the cost we spent due to the fleas issues ( hotel stays due to the de-infestation clean, medical cream and the one month storage space fee for our furniture). In addition, to end the tenancy after the first month. We really want to leave on the first week but we need to find a new place. The agent now said the landlord is very good to let us go and they only refund �100 agent fee, deposit and 5 days rent which do not even cover our hotel stay.
We will escalate the case to the property ombudsmen.
The agent said they helped us to do the tenant referencing and rectify the fleas issue promptly but we feel that they should not claim no pets are allowed in the flat when we viewed the flat. We won't rent the place if we know Meridian gave us wrong information at the flat viewing and do not follow our tenancy agreement.

Its discrimination. I was late paying my rent one month I was induced to have my baby a week early due to severe pre eclampsia. I was very ill and worried about my health and my babies health. The primary complication of my pre eclamlsia was high blood pressure. They called all day when I was being induced. My husband called them and explained the situation and asked them to stop calling me. He insisted he would call to pay in a few days. They told him they would continue to call me until we had paid. I then got charged a late fee which I agreed to pay but then they tried to charfe me a late fee on my late fee. The money hadnt gone in because of the weekend. I refused to pay. They charged us 60 pounds to renew a contract every six months so we went on a rolling contact and they charged 80 quid just to put my husbands name on the tenancy. They also put our flat up for sale without telling us. We were sat with our newborn baby when someone auddenly started drilling a forsale sign onto the wall outside our front room...

we called about a mould issue. We were washing the walls down every 3 days in winter and the carpets were rotting from mould. We were told it was our fault for breathing in the flat and that we should put our heating on full and open all windows. Biokill reported that the landlord should wash the walls down and repaint them and repair the carpets but Meridian would only agree to clean the airvents which we just do ourselves anyway!
So yeh. Not great! One of the ladies who works there ia lovely though and does her best to sort out the issues. Over all though I hate them and would not recommend them to anyone. I wish I knew how bad they were before I got stuck here!
