the agent (Mr H) who handled my case when I moved in, was so incompetent and careless. He did not give me the key on the moving-in day but kept it to the next day. Guess where the landlord is, in China, yes in China. it was my first rent in the UK and the agent really took advantage of that. As a result, I spent the weekend cleaning the dirt without electricity. He told me that on the first day, everything would be ready including the electricity and the inventory but he lied to my face.

full disclaimer: he sent a cleaning team after a week but I do not think anyone can live in such a situation.
The fridge, oven and bathroom had not been cleaned in years, moldy and disgusting.
the inventory listed items did not exist on the property.
Vacating the property, on the other hand, was a totally different experience. It was handled by another agent (Ms Lucja). She was extremely professional, responsive and able to solve all issues.
Finally, I received the deposit back after a reasonable time and an agreement on readable deductions.

For renting part, they charge the most expensive fees than others with bad service. my tenant told me they never reply her which makes her has no choice AND NEED TO CONTACT ME TO CALL THEM. if you have something need to repair, they always give a much higher price than other builders. when my tenant left, they didn't check the paid bills of water gas and electric. which made me had to paid the rest of the bills my self in the end . For selling part, they charge 3 percent, this is much much higher than others, normally other agents just charge for 1 percent. They don't stand on the landlord side, but just try to make you spend more money on re painting or re do other of buildingwork of the house. And always try to push you to sell your property if you got a offer which you are not happy with. Just 1 day before my completion , they called me that I need to remove all the thing from my house. to be honest, there is only 1 king size bed left, but I can not arrange for any one who can come to pick up because it is too late. I have to do it my self. However I don't live that area now, it takes long time for me to travel. Everyone who is renting or selling all should aviod this greedy company. This is for save your life and MONEY!!!!!

Foxtons is very terrible! I wish I can give 0 star. Once I rent out a property, they charge the fees higher and higher each month, and there are a lot unexpected payment to Foxton every month, I have rent the property out nearly a year but received nothing... Read Full Review

Terrible and rude service and response I have just rented an apartment through Foxtons. When I collected the key and checked the apartment everything was broken. Terrible and rude service and response
I have just rented an apartment through Foxtons. When I collected the key and checked the apartment everything was broken. It was filled with dumped goods, broken furniture and infected with flees.
The walls were not plastered properly and there is broken tiles in the bathroom which they agreed to fix during the first visit.
Bathroom flush was taking an hour to fill the water. I called the maintenance and put maintenance request. The response I got from the service team is there website is not working and I need to send an email. Also, They said they cannot fix the flush since it is still filling the water even though it is taking time. The service team is not at all good and rude
There service is total mess. If you see an apartment which does not need any maintenance, go with them. Do not trust anything agreed verbally. Take everything in writing so that you can go to council with complaints

All of our conditions were dropped from our offer with no real explanation except that we discussed it twice and we were told “the second time this wasn't mentioned”. This is very sneaky as we are not estate agents, just four young professionals so just thought we were amending the existing offer. They took payment of over £5000 from us before the tenancy agreement was signed which is illegal. And three weeks later we get told the contract on our house isn't going to go through as the landlord hasn't replied.

The initial quote was out of this world and I feel it was just to keep me tightened by a contract
