Shocking, try to get you to use their brokers (Alexander Hall - who are owned by the company that own them). They tell you they are the best in London yet aren't able to get you a mortgage that other brokers can. They tell you they understand your frustration, they don't. They just want easy mortgages and easy buyers. They continue to show others the flat that you have a made an offer on so they can get a better price (despite having an offer in principle from another broker). Tell you that the developer will only accept your offer once their broker has confirmed affordability. In my opinion it just sounds very fishy, it would be better if they explained their potential conflict of interest with their mortgage broker and it was clear to everyone they are owned by the same people. Plus be clear of the process beforehand as it's very frustrating, bad for me but also bad for the seller. As it puts me off the property as I can't trust the developer or the estate agent or the broker.

After a week of very little communication from Foxtons Sutton, in the days leading to my move, I finally received the keys to my new family home. The estate agent had said she'd inspected the property the previous night and we were all good to go. I got there with my young son, very excited. This is our first move in 11 years so it is kind of a big deal. I open the door to find a shocking state inside. The house- which has apparently been professionally clean less than 24hrs ago and redecorated- was absolutely filthy. Duck take still holding floorboards together, every wall in the whole house (save one) was caked in filth, grime, cobwebs even a couple of full black hand prints on the hallway wall. Dangerous wiring was left hanging and messily secures with tape. Food debris on the kitchen counters, tacky/ cheap furniture not removed. Weeds and big holes in the back garden. The list goes on and on and all of the above was supposed to have been taken care of before the start of our tenancy and Foxtons Sutton signed off on this property and told me it was in a fit state to live in. In the midst of a pandemic (and my son is in the vulnerable category because of an underlying medical issue) it's all the more shocking that a single mother has been left with a filthy house that many people have been coming in and out of the past several weeks. I waited patiently for the renovation work on this property to be carried out and assurances were made as to its final condition, which I couldn't see until today. I have a removal firm booked and paid for, for tomorrow morning and since viewing the flat, I have tried to contact Sutton Foxtons- both the estate agent I had been dealing with and her manager- and my calls, texts and email correspondence have gone ignored apart from a te They have knowingly left me to deal with all these problems- that they have caused through their negligence- totally alone. Really disgusted and very upset. I have lost all faith in Foxtons and what they stand for. Il say again that neither the agent nor manager have bothered getting back to me about any of the above. They really do not care.

Anyway I sold my property with another agent without handing out my property keys as I understand some agents use the property keys for themselves for extra marital affairs so DON't TRUST ANY ESTATE AGENTS

Foxtons Sutton treated me disgracefully and may treat you the same way, avoid them.
I believe they discriminated against me because after chasing me to market my house with them and making multiple promises and even wanting to bring viewers before I had instructed them, they refused my instruction application without giving me any reason, leaving me high and dry. I was left stranded throughout the May Bank Holiday weekend as it meant my house was not on the market.
Foxtons made the decision after I submitted all my personal details/ID/passport, etc. to them, hence why I feel they discriminated against me. They could do the same to you.
Details: After Foxtons Sutton valued my property on 13th May 2017, and in spite of negative feedback I found online and from asking around, I decided to go with Foxtons because of their much higher valuation of my property and the proof that the Sutton Sales Manager, William Campbell, provided. It was he who did the valuation and chased me for my instruction for three weeks. He said he had sold many properties in my area at a higher-than-asking price after taking over the properties from other agents who had advised the sellers to reduce their asking price.
I received regular calls and emails from Mr Campbell in the two weeks after the valuation. Plus, Foxtons had already asked me to remove my property from Rightmove, which I had done two weeks before. On 22 May, Mr Campbell emailed me that seeing that you have now taken the details down off line, let me know when we can get started in marketing your property for you this week. On 23 May, Mr Campbell emailed me that his colleague had 2 applicants that would be ideal to visit your property tonight? I received these emails before I had actually instructed Foxtons.
I spent three evenings filling in the application forms including a Seller's Questionnaire, which requested detailed information that no other agent I have used before has ever required. It was a lot of work. On Tuesday evening I delivered the application forms by hand to the branch in Sutton High Street. On Wednesday morning I received a phone call from Mr Campbell informing that they could not scan my (British) driving licence, and requesting another ID, along with a document about proceeds of the house sale.
I never got a chance to send these because later that same day, I received a call from James Stevenson, Area Sales Manager, informing me that Foxtons' compliance dept had decided that the company could not market my property. No reason was given at the time and until now, despite pleas. Foxtons made me feel like a fraudster, although I very much own the property. We are both British citizens, although I was born abroad.
I wish now that I had listened to all the negative feedback about them. An office colleague had said that Foxtons has had a For Sale sign in a property in her road in Norwood for one year....another estate agent tried to warn me about Foxtons' small print agreements....I ignored these and other cautionary warnings because William Campbell came across as trustworthy. He proved to be anything but.
I hope William Campbell and Foxtons think twice next time before courting prospective sellers and then dropping them. It's an execrable way to treat people in the quest for mass profit.

You went with them because of their high valuation, you got greedy and saw pound signs over quality and customer service. More fool you for going against feedback you have read and advice from...
