I live in a building in Birmingham managed by Centrick and had multiple issues with their car park. In a short period of time I received multiple parking tickets for parking in my own parking spot. Then soon after my car was broken into whilst parked in the "secure" car park.
I contacted Centrick requesting assistance in cancelling the incorrect parking tickets and in acquiring CCTV footage of the break in to assist in my insurance claim.
Centrick refused to respond over the phone, insisting that I email, but then ignored my email for over a month, only responding after being chased multiple times.
In their response Centrick refused to contact the Car Park Management company, leaving me facing > £500 in parking tickets for my own space which I may have to fight in court. They also admitted that they had never looked into who owned the CCTV cameras, and that as they had taken so long to reply to my enquiry the footage was most likely no longer available, leaving me with no evidence for my insurance claim.
I will never again live in a building managed by Centrick and would encourage others to avoid them.

Unresponsive, extortionate and terrible management company for apartment complexes. I own an apartment in a complex they recently started managing which was previously managed by SDL. They have raised the service charges by £700 in one quarter and failed to give an explanation for this extortionate increase. They ask you to contact their credit control if you have difficulty paying but you can never get through to the number; it merely cuts off saying all operators are busy and cannot take your call. I have called repeatedly for over 3 weeks and several times a day. I have emailed them and raised requests via their online portal and received no response. The icing on the cake though is them sending me a further letter telling me they were applying an administration charge because I failed to contact them. How does one even contact them now because there are no avenues whereby you can actually get a response from them. This all in a time of austerity and financial difficulty. They are not just awful but also extortionists who take unfair advantage of leaseholders for apartment blocks they manage.

This is the worst, incompetent and ignorant agent you can get. They are never available (last year I had to threaten with ombudsman to get an account statement, this year, I'm going through the same rigmarole), never answer your emails, their portal doesn't work, they take months to repair anything (only one out of 4 lifts working for about 6 months, roller shutter damaged for the best part of the last few years etc,etc) They used communal fund to replace hot water tanks that were still under warranty and overspend on many other activities.

I've attended several viewings with Centick, their staff are obviously instructed to repeatedly ask viewers to "please if you don't mind leave us a positive review online". Centrick's philosophy is not about providing great customer to tenants during their tenancy, no, it's about obtaining as many positive reviews as possible from property viewings only. This is evidence that their management is lazy and disingenuous, because viewings last about 10 minutes and are not difficult to manage. But providing good customer service to tenants throughout their tenancy is what really counts and is what Centrick should be judged on. But Centrick know their service is poor that's why tenants are NEVER asked to leave online reviews after their tenancy begins. I've been with these people for years, they never asked me or other tenants for reviews because they know what we'll say. Centrick pretend to have a customer service team by providing a canned response to negative reviews, but in reality they don't bother to actually address or improve anything. They've ignored my phone calls, emails, and issue raised through their portals for weeks and weeks. They are simply the worst.

This means they have a policy to charge tenants for a deep clean irrespective of the property's condition. If you leave it professionally cleaned, somewhat clean, dirty, it doesn't matter. They'll charge the maximum anyway because its their policy. Centrick does this because this takes a large chunk out of the deposit. I've asked Centrick multiple times for an invoice to confirm the £420 charge on my deposit for a deep clean, but they refuse to do so. I suspect they pay half of this amount to a contractor and keep the rest, there is no other explanation. If I'm wrong, then bring receipt!!
2. Centrick's phone lines and emails are nonresponsive. Their customer service is so poor its actually sad. I'd rather be homeless than to live in a property managed by Centrick again. They put you on hold for 20-30 minutes at a time, and you don't even get through to anyone after that! you simply get disconnected. It happened to me at least 5-6 times. Their emails are just as bad, they are too slow to respond, and sometimes they don't respond at all. It feels like you are dealing with armature teenagers, they can't pass on information to their own co-workers correctly, they cannot refer back to their own records, they regularly overcharge and they can't provide basic customer service.
3. Stealing tenants deposits - Centrick don't account for reasonable wear and tear, even though they should because it's clearly stated on their own tenancy contracts. They've provided me with a property that was NOT newly painted NOR had any brand new furniture. The property already came with nails on the walls (for pictures), markings, scratches on furniture etc. They charged an exorbitant amount and claimed it was "damages". They expect me to prove that I didn't cause these so called damages, which under any circumstances would be considered reasonable wear and tear anyway. Centrick did not include any nails on the walls, or the scratches on the couches in their original inventory list, yet they expect tenants who move into a property that doesn't have a fresh paint job or brand new furniture to take pictures of every single nail, scratch or mark in the property otherwise they'll charge you for this later. They seem to simply overcharge for everything by default. They expect tenants to either accept this, or try to fight this and give up due to the unreasonable demands and obstacles they put in place for their customers.
4.Centrick don't have stable staff. There is never anyone available to respond to queries, and I've not had a property manager for months and months at a time. A member of staff was once giving me excuses about why my issue was not dealt with for so long (6 weeks), she started to make excuses and said it wasn't her fault, she just joined the team, her colleague was on leave or something. This is unacceptable!! Its not the tenants fault if Centrick don't have proper handover procedures or cover to ensure that tenant's open cases/queries don't get lost and ignored. When my issue wasn't resolved, I had to resort to emailing their senior management, I encourage you to do so. You can legally look them up on the UK Gov companies house website. They'll make sure their team address your issue, not resolve it, but at least address it so you are not being passed from one amateur to another to get help.
5. Centrick are great at expanding and taking over as many properties as possible, but once the tenants move in and they get their fees from the landlords, they don't care about what happens after. They are greedy and don't really care about their customers. There are plenty of options in the market, I encourage tenants and landlords to simply do a bit of research before they do business with anyone.

Terrible agency. They do not care if something break in the house. I had to tell them i would have called the police if they would have come at that time instead of later on as i suggested. They also keep so much money from the deposit for absolutely b******t. Like 69 pounds for not wiping the fire alarms or 12 pounds to replace a light that has never been working in the first place. Disgusting place to avoid like the plague. Shame cause they have usually nice flats but I will tell everyone I know to stay away. Hopefully someone reads this review before signing a contract/scam with them.

Centrick have managed several properties of mine. Communication has always been an issue and trying to get a property check out and utility bills sorted has been impossible leaving me out of pocket hundreds of pounds and lost rent. Issues remain unsolved months later and the likes of Tamara and Sophie think it's ok just to ignore any communication. I have moved some property away from them and the rest is likely to follow, other agents are responsive and cheaper.

My family also feels dreadful. Poor and non-communications. Consistent Inaccurate information given. Expensive deductions . Unreasonable. Frustrating. Stressful, Unprofessional. AVOID this branch..
When we arrived to start the tenancy the house was in a diabolical condition - with numerous dead vermin and excrement all over the kitchen, not to mention the state of the appliances and the foul stench throughout the property.

Avoid Avoid Avoid. At all costs....! Diabolical service, property mis-management, terrible communication - the 3 guarantees of Centrick Birmingham lettings.
Having used Centrick for just over 2 years to manage my private rental property in Birmingham (Jewellery Quarter), I cannot advise against them enough. Despite having a reliable tenant in the property, Centrick made the entire process miserable for both landlord & tenant. The only reason I signed up to a property agent was to take the stress & hassle out of my 1 rental property, instead they were the sole driver of stress & hassle throughout.
Missed & delayed payments, improper deductions on statements, relentless chasing of issues, terrible communication to both parties (landlord & tenant) & an all round diabolic service for the management fee they charge.
Such poor service resulted in me liaising directly with the tenant to resolve issues due to their ongoing mis-management. To make matters worse, upon deciding to leave Centrick & make a formal complaint, the entire tenancy checkout was mismanaged by the team resulting in failed key collection, missed checkout appointments and the property left in a state of disrepair - disrepair that was verbally disclosed to me by their lettings team post-inspection, but later omitted from their written checkout report, resulting in me being at a significant, personal financial loss when I finally had keys returned to me as landlord.
Despite escalating the complaint within Centrick, they failed to conduct an adequate investigation & in line with their standard lack of communication, required constant chasing to understand the status of the complaint. To date Centrick have refused to take any responsibility or accountability for their mis-management.

A GUIDE ON HOW TO SURVIVE CENTRICK NIGHTMARE! First of all - if you are reading this, that means you were unlucky enough to do business with Centrick. But DO NOT WORRY! If you listen to my tips below - you can get through this! - and even get your deposit back. My background: just like you, I have been fooled into doing business and renting through Centrick for the last 5 years. At the time I needed a place to live in a Birmingham town center - so I made a horrible mistake of not investigating what level of stress/incompetence and money loss I will have to go through by singing a rental agreement with this nightmare agency. It is the most atrocious, disrespectful, incompetent service you will ever receive (you will be hard pressed to find someone worse than Centrick - when it comes to customer support).
So if just like me - you signed a rental contract with them - relax, and listen to these tips and advice on what to expect from Centrick: 1. Never trust Centrick! They will be polite and pleasant (even give you mineral water at their office) - until you sign a contract with them, after that they can not care less about you (but oh boy they will care A LOT about scamming you of your money).
2. Do not expect any level of competence from them. It is literally impossible to call their office, they will never call you back (unless they want your money). They will answer to emails (takes them no less than 1 week to answer urgent replies, or sometimes it even takes going through ombudsman (TDS) or informing them of going to small claims court - for them to answer your emails).
3. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE! Whatever you do on your first week when you move in - YOU MUST TAKE A LOT OF PICTURES for your check-in report. Centrick will intentionally take only a few images for your check in report - and will conveniently forget about the professional cleaning. Remember - having multiple images on your check in, will be the only way to prove your case, when it comes to getting your deposit back. Hence, always always always take multiple pictures of dirt/dust/scuffs/cracks/bumps and any other minor imperfection (even if it is a new build and you are the first person renting it).
4. If something goes wrong - do not expect Centrick to fix it or to address the issue (you might be the lucky one - if they do).
5. On your check out - DO NOT EXPECT to get your deposit back. You will have to fight for it and either go through ombudsman TDS or small claims court after. Do not allow them to scam you into stealing your money from your deposit (and trust me, they will do their best to give you as little deposit as possible). In my case Centrick overcharged us for 99.58£ which took multiple emails with their incompetent staff, at the end I threatened them to go to small claims court and asked them to present a proof on why they feel overcharging me 99.58£ is justified. As Centrick knew it was their scam - they had to back off as they had no proof to justify overcharging us 99.58£. A few weeks after - Centrick invented another scam, where they tried to overcharge us again for 62.50£, which again due to the lack of proof - Centrick struggled to make their case on why they feel we should be charged this amount. They also wanted to overcharge 183£ for a Bronze General Clean pack - but we already knew that Centrick will play this game, hence we cleaned the flat to a better standard then we received, and multiple pictures on check in date allowed us to defend our case. Centrick also went through to find the smallest cracks/chips/stains (you need a microscope to see some of them, but it does not matter for Centrick, as their goal is to take as much of your deposit money as possible). Again - some people will not have time to fight Centrick and take them to TDS ombudsman. For us - we were ready to fight them. I feel Centrick realized this and after some consideration we agreed to settle on 90£ deductions (Centrick wanted to overcharge us for a general cleaning/spot clean for 236.58£ + 140£ for chips/dents).
Good Luck! You can survive this!

Absolutely pathetic customer service throughout and to end the tenancy, Centrick failed to organize and report back the checkout and any findings. They've routinely ignored our emails and questions - but had the nerve to just email and say keys were ready for collection with no acknowledgment of their failings or anything resembling an apology.
Would avoid, no matter what they promise. Complete waste of time.

Absolutely Shocking!!!
Things have been difficult from the very beginning. The tenancy agreement included clauses not applicable to the property including obligation to care for a garden that does not exist. Still, the letting agency refused to take it out of the tenancy agreement...
The quality and accuracy of information provided by the letting agency is very low. It is either wrong or confusing. E.g. they gave me details of an internet provider that does not even provide services in that area and details of an electric provider that was not even providing electricity there.
Whenever I complained and asked for some kind of response or clarification my emails would get ignored. Nobody is picking up phones. If you are in trouble, you'd better deal with it yourself because they won't help you!
I recently received an email notifying me that I have not paid 4 months worth of rent even though I paid for 6 months up-front (which they insisted on) and paid for every subsequent month after that. The numbers just didn't add up. The email was sent on Saturday but ... Centrick do not operate on Saturdays so I was unable to reach anybody on the number in the email. It just made no sense.

For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
