We found Andrew Granger Estate agents to be efficient, friendly and helpful when renting a property and then buying a property from them. Both experiences we have found all the staff to be very helpful and courteous calling me back and answering emails immediately. Jilly was extremely helpful and very professional at the beginning and end of our tenancy. Jilly went above and beyond the call of duty to solve any problem and always at hand to give us advice. We would highly recommend Andrew Grangers estate agents for renting and buying property.

Andrew Granger are terrible. We moved into a house, the walls hadn't been painted they still had scribbles all over the walls from the last tenants kids. Kitchen floor was mouldy and lifting up from a leak that had been left for over a month. The boiler was not working and it took them ages to get someone to fix it was pregnant at the time so left without hot water or heating in march. In the end owner wanted to sell the house so we were asked to leave. Only to find the house is back up for rent a few months later. Andrew grangers are liars, rented with them twice and both time took my deposit even though the house was 110% times better than when we moved in. Do not rent with them they cause nothing but stress and greif. They have put me off renting for life! Time they closed down!

If I could have chosen no stars then I would. Never fix things. I was left without heating and hot water for 4 months over the winter. The pipes burst in the loft and the walls and ceilings were damp for 4 months. Ice formed on the inside of the windows. They kept saying that the landlord was unable to get the boiler sorted. Eventually I refused to pay the rent and finally after the second payment was missed, they managed to get the boiler replaced (on the second attempt). Then, as soon as the house was finally warm with hot water, they issued an eviction notice within a week. These people need to learn some manners and customer service. Never ever use these people. I know many people who have used this company and not one has had a good experience.

What agent could do to change your mind?
You could\'ve stopped making it seem all you wanted was money. you could help future clients with their quires. FIX things when they need to be fixed and don\'t make stupid excuses. Think of things as if they were you personally, think how you\'d feel if you were treated the way you treat us. the only reason i used you was because you were the main occupiers for the renting properties. lesson learnt. never again. We put in application and was asked right away if we had a grantor even before doing any referencing or ceirdt checks and we made well over the required income for the property and I have a professional job (we have very good credit and prefect rental history). Took four days and many phone calls to tell us Landlord went with another couple with no children. Woman in the office are very rude We found another great lettings agent in market harborough who let to us with no grantor, whole application was done in two days. If possible avoid Andrew Granger

What agent could do to change your mind?
Be professional, organised, efficient and remember that \"an Englishman\'s home is his castle\" ie people have feelings, go to work, and would like some notice before they organise hords of contractors at THEIR convenience!
Their lack of consideration is causing me a LOT of unecessary stress :-(

This is my third rental property and consequently, my third experience of Letting Agents. I have to say that Andrew Granger are by FAR the WORST. I was with Albery Tyson before who I cannot praise enough. They were efficient, friendly and helpful and are still there to advise me even though I am no longer a tenant!
I have, sadly, found Andrew Granger and Co to be unprofessional and inefficient. As an example, they "forgot" the day I was moving in...even though they, of course, had everything in writing. Too many cock-ups to list. They have a poor reputation in this area and my guarantor informed me, that had he known that Andrew Granger were to be my agents, he would NOT have agreed to be my guarantor. I find them to be poorly organised and I am becoming increasingly harrassed by the stream of (unecessary) workmen they are sending to my home at short (or NO) notice.
I would advise avoiding this company at all costs whether you are a property owner or a potential tenant.

So we saw a house and phoned up for an appointment. All fine and went and saw the property and loved it. So we put an offer in and our told ours is the best offer on the table but there is one other and it is slightly lower. At this point were told the vendor has decided to go to a sealed bid which will be opened Thursday at 12pm. So we make our sealed bid, deliver it a day early (Wednesday morning) and expect to hear back Thursday afternoon. Then suddenly Wednesday afternoon we get a call from Andrew Grainger office. Were told the other buyer has come in with an offer 25k over asking and so the vendor has accepted. Then they ask if i still want them to open my bid. Questions: Why did they open or accept an offer before Thursday 12pm when it was suppose to be sealed until then? Surely the vendor would at least want to look at all the offers before making his decision? Even if the these two questions are answered why didn't they wait until Thursday after 12pm to call us, therefore not making us dubious of the whole process? Why did they undervalue a house by 25k?! and is this common practice for them to start a bidding war?
As you can see, nothing adds up. Were walking away from the deal but wonder if the vendor is in full knowledge of all the facts an hope he isn't being as miss-informed as we were. We also wonder if we are going to get a call in a couple of weeks saying the other buyer has dropped out but "if we can match his offer its ours"....
If you have to deal with Andrew Grainger i would be very very careful.

Requests for repairs in the house take a looong time to be actioned, and the majority are not carried out. To be fair, this could be down to the landlords who seem the types to rake in the rents, but don't like to maintain their properties, despite receiving thousands in rent.
Agree with previous poster about the rude staff at this branch.. There is a particular rather snooty lady who seems to be 'in charge' of lettings and whose attitude is condescending and at times bullying. Why she has such a 'superior' attiitude is a mystery, as of course anyone without qualifications and experience can set up as a letting agent.
One thing the agency does is try and charge tenants for 'going onto a period tenancy' when in fact this is something that occurs automatically at the end of the fixed term, there is absolutely nothing they have to do. (this has been confirmed by Shelter amongst others).
Ironically the landlords when they last visited were also complaining to me about this agency, saying how little they did for the money. So they are not popular with either landlord or tenant. Best avoided, really.
