These scammers deserve -n rating ! My son and his mates are using them . Since June they haven’t had their deposit if £2000 back and argue tgat the boys need to pay £1000 for 1 wall with blutack and a faulty socket behind the sofa ! Also they are claiming a fee of £400 for a cleaning services tgat weren’t agreed and without any invoice or consent of the boys . The cleaning were sent twice during the year of tenancy and no one had a clue and the total without an invoice was given to them in the end of tenancy ! Horrible ! The are pushing their family members for landlords and then they play dirty together to split the kept deposits ! Scan bags and mafia ! Keep away from these bastards

If I could give them zero stars I would.

I had the misfortune of renting an EXTREMELY overpriced, poorly ventilated 2 bedroom apartment on Erleigh road from a landlord called Sunny who was incredibly rude and invasive towards myself and roommate during our one year lease 2 years ago. He entered the property I was renting a handful of times WITHOUT permission despite knowing two woman lived there alone and almost walked in on me showering. He also lingered outside my apartment door on several occasions and stated to my roommate I was “rude” because I expressed my discomfort in him constantly standing outside our door and refused to respond to his almost daily phone calls/messages. It got to the point where it was causing me extreme anxiety to speak with him and so I and my parents, informed west gate of his unprofessionalism and they ignored all of our emails. Westgate agents also entered our property without 24 hours notice (as stated in every contract they provide) and i on more than one occasion, had to block entry to the door with physical items as they would attempt to come into the property despite not asking prior permission while I was there alone.

If you’re looking for a student house in Reading do NOT go with westgate or rent from Sunny unless you want to be constantly harrassed and wake up to your landlord or 4 random strangers in your bedroom at 8am.

Don’t even deserve one star. House was handed to us in an awful condition with black mould in every bathroom and our complaints were consistently ignored. Cleaners were sent in and failed to do any work so no improvements were made. During the tenancy they were slow at responding to requests and repairs. There was a termite problem in one bedroom which they asked the individual to put up with, it took several emails and phone calls for them to take this problem seriously.
Do not rent a house through westgate. The only thing they are good at is ripping money out your pocket and disrespecting tenants.

Scammers, they over price their services. I payed a fee of £300, I thought I payed in case there were issues with the property but no, they told me I should resolve that with the landlord. They are completely useless, which is a shame cause their staff were nice and polite. Don't know what is the point of them. You are better off going to a private landlord and have a proper contract in place.
