The agents were slow to arrange a viewing of the concerned property, attributed to the availability of the former tenants, which is entirely excusable. However agreement of the lease was protracted and the agents were slow to respond. When responses were made the agents were not prepared to accept any changes to their form of lease, including the deletion of terms which were not applicable - which was surprising and frustrating given that including terms in a contract which do not have application is not something one would expect. The agents were not flexible on the completion of the inventory check, and unwilling to complete this at a weekend. This resulted in the inventory check being completed without the tenant present - which meant that numerous issues (such as a non-flushing toilet and not working lights were missed on inventory check) - such issues have yet to be resolved some 3 weeks after the move in date. In addition despite paying all move in costs 8 days prior to the collection of keys, the funds were unable to be located by the accounts team on the move in date, which caused undue delay and was concerning, but entirely indicative of the service provided by these agents. It was understandably somewhat surprising that I was then asked to complete a review of the agents given the above and outstanding issues I still have with them! Whilst disappointing, unfortunately I cannot recommend these agents.

I've rented a flat with Hurford Salvi Carr in Farringdon. Marco & Hannah did a great job selling our flat in an increasingly difficult market. Their guidance through the initial marketing and offers stage was spot on, but they really earned their corn in making sure the communication between the 2 parties and the 2 sets of solicitors was maintained. Inevitably both solicitors were average at best and the sale could easily have fallen through without HSC's constant engagement - special thanks to Hannah on this count!

I have used Hurford Salvi Carr for letting my three London properties for several years now and without exception i have only had the highest standards of service and attention from them. I recently had to let out one of my flat in the middle of the Covid pandemic. In very trying circumstances Kirk at the City Road office did a fantastic job in finding good professional tenants for me at a very good rental value. The process went entirely smoothly and throughout Kirk kept me fully informed. Once tenants were found the HSC back office team did a great job in ensuring everything was completed smoothly. Negotiations with the seller were smooth and constructive. Marco is highly experienced and delightful to deal with, a gent and a pro! As to Clerkenwell and The City, I challenge another agent to know this area so extensively!

His lettings and management colleagues have also been great and we got 2 superb tenants for our new apartment within the first day of launching! We have now transferred the management of our apartments to Hurford Salvi and it’s simply a world apart from our last agents.

I bought my St John Street penthouse through Marco at Hurford Salvi in 2006 and sold it through Marco in November 2019. During the years in between, Marco acted as my always-available property consultant, advising on the ups and downs of local property prices.
The area has changed during those 13 years, of course, but Marco has been a constant presence, pounding the streets, keeping an eye on every development. In residential property circles, he is surely 'Mr Clerkenwell'.
For my sale, he arranged an exceptional set of photographs, wrote enticing property particulars and secured a positive editorial mention in House & Gardens magazine. Hurford Salvi arranged around 30 viewings in 5 or 6 weeks and provided useful feedback on each one. Despite the Brexit uncertainty at the time, Marco and his team obtained 2 offers close to the asking price, both from overseas cash buyers. He made sure that members of his team shepherded the sale transaction to its conclusion.
Other Estate Agents have set up shop since 2006, but no one knows Clerkenwell like Marco.
