I have recently had some hardship dealing with a property in Plymouth.
On a friend's recommendation I asked for help from Beresford Ward letting agency and had the pleasure to meet the Director Mark Ward. I wasn't disappointed, at contrary, this was such a positive experience .
He is such a great professional and wonderful person who would put all effort in giving the best advice and expertise. And he did everything possible in my case to assist with last inspection, property maintenance and deposit issues.
I cannot thank him enough for all his input.
We kept in touch by phone, emails and he visited in person to check everything was OK.
Greatest respect for all the work you do.

All the team at Bereford Ward are absolutely lovely, always cheerful and supportive. I have been with them for 4.5 years and am very sad to leave due to my land lady wanting to sell the property. They are very professional and nothing is too much for them. My boys and I are Gutted to leave they care. I would recommend them to anyone who needs the personal touch & they have great communications with the owners of the houses too so get things done! I will miss them. Rachel

The whole team at Berrisford Ward can only be congratulated for outstanding service over almost 15 years. If I could award a 6th star I would. Looking at the other reviews I think the one with a 1 star rating must have been written by a rival firm.

The team have dealt with our business with diligence and politeness. I felt completely at ease and trusting as they helped me move letting our property forward. I found them professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I so appreciated being kept in the loop by them promptly responding to my questions and ensuring follow up calls where made. For a period of 3 years I was a tenant in a property managed by Beresford Ward. Throughout the entire duration of my tenancy the agency never failed to be considerate and proactive with any structural or practical issues that naturally arose. Issues were also rectified in a sound, long term manner. Notification was always provided in plenty of time before any entry was required and privacy was well respected with trust in the tenant.
As a clean, conscientious tenant, I was particularly pleased that the agency provide a just full repayment of my deposit upon departure - something becoming increasingly uncommon with many landlords and agency.
Having lived in Plymouth for over 7 years, under a number of agencies and landlords, I would highly recommend BW to anybody seeking to rent a clean, comfortable, affordable home.

Beresford ward was always most helpful and helped resolved many situations whilst letting the flat via them. They are all friendly whilst always professional and always make time to deal with you as best and quickly as they can. we have enjoyed knowing this company and would highly recommend ... What agent could do to change your mind?
Only thing we was a little disappointed with was we had to pay for carpet cleaning as there was pets at the property which was in the contract which we understand but (this was nothing to do with Beresford Ward) this was due to the landlord who was not very cooperative We felt as we have had full central heating funded and fitted via ourselves whilst we was there and this would have cost the landlord alot of money we felt he could have said the carpets didnt need doing seeing we had done this and we had a few damp problems which we rectified ourselves but he still wanted it cleaned despite the carpets always being poor and very worn condition and needed to be replaced in all fairness this was from day one they was like this. But again nothing to do with the agents they tried their best to try and reason with the landlord. But he wasnt happy to this suggestion and we had to pay â£45 but other than that no problems.

Beresford ward was always most helpful and helped resolved many situations whilst letting the flat via them.
They are all friendly whilst always professional and always make time to deal with you as best and quickly as they can.
we have enjoyed knowing this company and would highly recommend them.
we also had no problem receiving our deposit and they was most reasonable and had good understanding and exceptance of minor wear and tear whilst carrying out the inventory and return of deposit.
we never had any problems whilst dealing with them and we are sad to say goodbye as we have come to know them well.

Unbelievably bad. I would honestly not recommend anyone to go with Beresford Ward as a letting agent. The list of problems we had with them were endless:
1) Never phoning you back after you had called about a problem.
2) Promising deadlines about when work will be carried out (which were never met). Continuously missing these deadline and then making up a new time/date plucked out of thin air.
3) Not completing maintenance work to a high standard and leaving this half finished for months on end.
4) Flat left in a filthy condition when we moved in.
5) LYING about calling/leaving messages with us on numerous occasions. When in truth, they had just forgotten to get in touch.
Honestly I could go on. The incompetence of the staff was simply unbelievable and unprofessional to say the least. Please do not waste your time with them!

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed).
