There aren't enough words to describe how miserable working with Portico in Fulham is. I could go on for MONTHS but I'll keep it short. (Also, note this is not even close to the extent of the issues we've had with them): Looking to rent, it took 3 tries for Louise to show us the property we wanted to view. She forgot the keys once and then forgot she made plans to show us the property. Unprofessional from the start. We signed the lease and Portico then they LOST their set of keys for our flat. They then lied multiple times and said they found them, but that was not the case. When I brought up that this was a safety concern and that someone from Portico or a subcontractor could've taken our keys and used them to break in one day, they laughed that off and didn't further escalate. A few days later, without letting us know, a member of the Portico team brought a bundle of keys over to try them at our property - the heart attack we had when all of a sudden someone was trying to come into our property - disgusting and they're lucky the police weren't called. Despite the horribleness of dealing with Portico, we had a decently good deal on our property. We were going to continue to rent until a severe mould problem broke out in our flat. Portico painted over it twice and it kept coming back, then they refused to further fix the problem further so for the sake of our health we decided not to renew and to move out at the end of our tenancy. We then received an email from a member of their property management team that said that the reason they didn't rush to fix the mould problem was they assumed we were going to keep renting the property - not a good reason to neglect your tenants when there's a legitimate concern. Look, I could go into how when we moved in there was a white-stained (yuck) couch that they refused to let us remove, or that they are terrible at promptly replying, or that when they showed our flat when we were moving out we were more than accommodating but they then yelled at us when we couldn't let someone come view the property last minute at almost 8pm one time, or that when we moved in the bathtub was filled with dead flies, or that despite the fact we paid for a professional end-of-tenancy 10-hour-clean they tried to charge us for a reclean but provided no evidence that it wasn't up to standard and when asked to provide evidence they failed to provide a receipt for the reclean or photos of issues with cleaning. But here's the deal, this whole property management industry is corrupt. We liked the property initially and there was no way to rent it without going through Portico. So they suck and they're unprofessional and rude and just terrible at their jobs, but if you find a place you like you might not be able to avoid them.
