After contacting Castledene lettings about a property in Mowbray road on the 28/06/2022. I asked to apply for a rental just on the the description and photos online as I live in the Southeast and trying to find somewhere to rent because of a transfer with my company and being closer to my parents as my father has been diagnosed with Prostate cancer. I was told that I would need to travel to the Northeast to view the property which is a 640 mile round trip. I was told when I called that I was the first person to contact them and I was the first viewing. This was arranged for Tuesday the 5th of July at 11am. I got in to the property at 10:50 and looked around the property. I asked if anyone had viewed the property and was told that I was the first but there was a lot of inquiries. I said that I liked to the place a wanted to rent it. I was told to contact the office and ask to make an application. 11am I contacted the office and asked to apply for rental and fill out a application. Sam called me back and took my details and told me that they would contact me soon. No one contacted me so I contacted them because i needed to do the 310 mile return journey to the Southeast. I spoke to Sam again and he passed me onto Alex. I was told by Alex that they had already accepted a application. I ask why was I not contacted as I was told on several occasions that I was the first viewing. He just replied well we have accepted an application. I have wasted two days holiday and £120 on a false promise. Absolutely disgusting behavior!

Castledene was recommended to me by another landlord and I am very pleased I used them. I have used two other letting agents in Hartlepool and the the service was the worst that could be imagined from both. In contrast Louise and especially Lizzie who I dealt with most of the time, were exceptional. They exceeded my expectations at every point. Being a mortgage advisor (in the midlands) I have contact with lots of estate agent who constantly over promise and under perform. It is refreshing to work with a company with high standards and I would definately recommend Castledene.
