Absolutely Awful Experience with Goodfellows
If I could give zero stars, I would. Dealing with Goodfellows has been nothing short of a nightmare. From start to finish, their lack of professionalism and disregard for tenants' concerns has been appalling.
To begin with, communication is practically nonexistent. Emails and calls go unanswered for days, sometimes weeks. When they do finally respond, it's with vague or dismissive answers that leave you feeling unheard and frustrated.
The property I rented was not as advertised. Issues like faulty appliances, plumbing problems, and mold were present from day one, yet Goodfellows consistently failed to address them despite repeated complaints. Their so-called “maintenance team” is either overbooked, unqualified, or simply doesn't care.
To make matters worse, they are quick to charge exorbitant fees for anything and everything, often without proper explanation. When it came time to move out, they unfairly deducted a large chunk of my deposit for “cleaning” and “repairs” that were either unnecessary or pre-existing.
It's clear that Goodfellows cares only about their profits, not the well-being of their tenants. I wouldn't recommend this agency to anyone. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere for your rental needs.

Viewings were set up promptly, had helpful staff and ran smoothly. That is where the good stuff stopped...
I lost a buyer who had pulled out without them appearing to notice. I pushed them to contact him and found out. I had to list again. The manager promised to manage my case from that point and did not. Calls went unanswered (he lost his phone) Contact was not forthcoming (he was isolating due to Covid) My home sold so I am thankful, but I was disappointed by Goodfellows Mitcham and would not recommend them to anyone.
However, Reece was a star. Despite not being senior, (he should be promoted) he chased everything I asked him to. He always called back when he said he would. He had follow-through on everything he did. His manner was polite and helpful.
I am giving Goodfellows Mitcham 2 stars, one for the initial process and one for Reece.

Useless agency. Delayed our contracted move-in date by two weeks ONE day before move in.
Constantly avoid and ignore messages.
Upon move out, they will do everything in their ability to extort you out of hundreds and hundreds of pounds from your deposit, despite leaving the flat in a pristine condition, significantly better than how you found it moving in.

This is my first time renting a property and Goodfellows have been absolutely amazing through the whole process. I required some refurb work first, and Goodfellows arranged for a couple of quotes for me from approved companies that they typically work with. I chose one of these companies and they were extremely thorough and done a very professional job throughout.
When it came to actually renting the property, Nelson in particularly was extremely helpful and kept me informed throughout the process. His communication was excellent via phone & email, and he kept me updated throughout. He also initially explained everything very clearly, so there were no surprised through the process.
I'm extremely happy that I chose Goodfellows to let my property with, and look forward to continue working with them!

Complaints Procedure
Goodfellows is a member of The Property Ombudsman Scheme (TPOS) and we aim to provide the highest standards of service to all our customers. To ensure that your interests are safeguarded we have the following complaints procedure in place.
The aim of this process is to resolve all customer issues or concerns as quickly as possible. In the majority of cases we hope that any issues can be resolved quickly and amicably to customers\' satisfaction at branch level.
Stage One - Branch Manager
Complaints should, in the first instance, be directed to the Manager of the estate agency branch you have been dealing with. They will endeavour to liaise with you quickly and resolve your complaint immediately, no later than 5 working days from first notification.
Stage Two - Director
Should the local manager not be able to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you can refer the matter to the Sales or Lettings Director at head office. Once received your letter will be acknowledged within 3 working days and you will receive a response within 15 working days from receipt of your letter.
Stage Three - Managing Director
If, after you have dealt with the division director, you remain dissatisfied you may address your concerns, in writing, to the Managing Director. Once received your letter will be acknowledged within 3 working days and you will receive a response within 15 working days from receipt of your letter.

Stage Four - The Property Ombudsman
If you still remain dissatisfied with the outcome of your complaint after dealing with the Directors, and once you have received a Final Viewpoint letter from the Managing Director, you may approach the Property Ombudsman.

- The Property Ombudsman will not consider your complaint until our internal complaints procedure has been exhausted and you have received our Final Viewpoint letter.
- The Property Ombudsman recommends paying any outstanding fees on a \"without prejudice\" basis to avoid late-payment charges and\/or further action.
Please be aware that a complaint cannot be sent direct to the Ombudsman without first following the internal complaints procedure.
