Do Not Rent With Accord. My boyfriend and I rented a flat with Accord during our final year of university. The agency were aware that we were students with limited experience of renting and I believe that we were exploited. Firstly, no one turned up when we were scheduled to view the property. Despite this, we did eventually get to view the property and decided to go ahead with signing the contract. We were charged an extortionate administration fee of around £800. Then during the first week of our tenancy, the washing machine broke and flooded our flat. Although we reported this straight away, we were without a washing machine for 3 weeks before someone came to replace it. During the tenancy, we also had several other problems which were never sorted out. We reported no hot water in any of the sinks in the flat or the bath around 3 months before the end of our tenancy. Someone was sent out to have a look at this, but clearly did not fix it as we had no hot water anywhere aside from the shower for the remainder of our tenancy. We also had an issue with a leak under the flooring which caused a huge amount of mould and fungi to grow up through the carpet and damage several of our belongings. We reported this, but no one ever came out to deal with this. After we moved out, they tried to make ridiculous deductions to our deposit, amounting to over £600. The property was not cleaned properly when we moved in and we had definitely left it in a better state than it had been previously. They also tried to charge us for damage that had been there when we moved in. After weeks of negotiation, we were able to reduce this deduction to £200 (which I still believe to be unfair) but the whole thing was handled very unprofessionally as it ended up with us bargaining with the landlord and settling on an arbitrary figure rather than paying for any specific damage we had supposedly caused. I found the whole ordeal with the deposit extremely stressful and definitely feel exploited. Please think twice before renting a property with this agency as I would not want anyone else to go through what we went through with them.

I rented a property through Accord for 2.5 years and if I had at any point been able to find a similar property or could have afforded the exit fee I would have left.
If you contact the office for any request you would be met with a rude response or claims of this is not our responsibility.
You will be charged an admin fee for almost any activity throughout. We paid around £1200 in fees over the period of our tenancy.
Maintenance requests are ignored and the online tool used to report maintenance is faulty and requests are regularly lost.
The property maintenance team are at all times trying to find the cheapest and crudest resolution. We had repeated mold issues that were fixed by painting to cover up rather than treating the route cause.
We were informed by a contractor that a member of Accord staff had entered the property whilst maintenance was being carried out this was completely without the prior consent of either tenant.

Great Team and people to connect with.
I recently wanted to move into a property which was not in a very good condition,but they helped me out and supported me,completed the entire deep cleaning and rectified the issues within few days which was really commendable.
Special thanks to Michael Walden for looking into this personally and making sure that I move into the property asap.

BEWARE. ZERO STAR OUTFIT.
I really could go on about this, but I'll keep it short and let the pictures speak for themselves.
My wife and I moved from the States in Dec 2016 and leased a property (sight unseen) through Accord prior to our arrival back in the UK. Given the fact that we were out of the country for so long, Accord asked us to pay the full lease term up front in cash (approx. 17K) - which we did in good faith.
Accord took their extortionate fees and the landlady banked the cash, but they couldn't even be bothered to clean the place prior to our arrival - this is despite the fact that the inventory clerk had formally noted the poor condition of the property and general uncleanliness.
The photos you'll see at the below link where taken on our arrival.
Highlights include:
*Broken oven
*Large holes in the floorboards in the main living area
*Filthy kitchen
*Trash in garden - Incl. shed full of junk.
*Filthy carpets in the bedroom that was intended for my baby daughter.
*Stain blinds
*Door hanging off hinges
*General state of disrepair - blocked drains, filth, lack of care.
*Landlord refusing to give up parking permit.

Accord did nothing to help us with this situation. Their lack of care was astounding. We ended up fixing this place up ourselves at significant cost and time to us - including replacing carpets and days of deep cleaning.
Everyone involved with this should be ashamed. This should have been an exciting homecoming for us, but the way we were treated caused a lot of stress at a particularly difficult time.
I'm specifically calling out Nathan Nock. I can only say that his response to my concerns was appalling. He is not a fit professional and has no place managing a team (whose performance was indicative of his poor example).
We've rented apartments and homes in various cities and never dreamed that we would be treated like this. Just awful.
We moved out of this property as soon as we could, but not until Accord had tried to jack up the rent (LOL) and charged us a ridiculous reference fee.

Horrible agency. Avoid like the plague!! Outrageous fees (they charged extortionately high fees for just about everything. Unethical, horrible, money grabbing company. Why the landlord ever decided to use them is beyond me, they are simply a disgusting company with horrible ethics. Vital work needed will be delayed endlessly, we couldn't access the garden for weeks after we first moved in as the patio door was broken (despite being assured that it would have been replaced before we moved in). As tenants we have never been informed of the possibility of doing the "rolling contract", so they make you pay a fee for every renewal and they consequently suggest you to do short term contract. We have been charged 600£ because leaving the property before the end of the contract regardless we gave a notice period and correctly informed them in advance. They made us pay one day more than what expected with no reason and when we asked for explanations they treated us very rude and disrespectfully leaving us astonished. No conscience of human politeness, especially with regard of one *... the essence of anti-professionalism and rudeness.
