I have been renting through Downer and Co for four years now, and have been living in a manger property for the last two years. Needless to say I am very impressed with the service that I have received as a Tennant and every thing has been so straight forward.
Initially moving into a rented property was a concern, but from the 'get go', Downer and Co have been nothing but friendly, supportive and genuine. All staff I have encountered have been polite and professional and are always willing to help. Catherine has always been able to answer any questions and they are always at the end of a phone or email.
I have yet to use the app for maintenance, but it looks like a great step in the right direction.
Overall, I am very impressed with the service offered by Downer and Co and would highly reccomend.

We have been renting a property, managed by Downers, in Newbury for the last 6 years.
From the very start we were treated extremely well and with a great deal of respect. Downers were there at the initial viewing to introduce the landlord and answer questions. They were also there at the subsequent viewing and the local knowledge and advice given by Lee Fenn Tripp at that time helped with our decision.
When we decided give notice on our tenancy, Downers visited the house to take photos and during what is always a very stressful process they showed a great amount of consideration whilst accompanying potential new tenants.
The check out process has been handled in a professional and timely manner and any questions that we had have been answered with honestly and advice given freely.
Estate Agents often get bad 'press' sometimes justly deserved. We hope however that in our search for a new property we will find an agency that is a good as Downer and Co. and that they will also deserve the good 'press' that Downers deserve.

Over a twenty year span as a landlord, in various locations, I have yet to use an agent better than Downer. I mainly deal with Rosemary, who looks after my tenants particularly well and for which I am sure they are grateful. I know I am reassured, by her dedication and attention to detail, that they are in good hands. Even on this last Christmas Day, Rosemary, who had Downer's emergency phone, was able to deal with an emergency with considerable aplomb and skill; at a level which I felt went above and beyond what might reasonably be expected of an agent. In my experience that puts Downer at the head of the competition.
I must also mention Melissa, with whom I have fewer dealings, but who has always been particularly helpful and pleasant.

Initially moving into a rented property was a concern, but from the 'get go', Downer and Co have been nothing but friendly, supportive and genuine. We were very pleased with the service overall. We felt Richard priced the house correctly in the first place and we almost achieved the asking price. We had a steady stream of viewers and one of the first was very keen but did not have an offer on their property. One minor criticism is that, when interest appeared to have waned, we felt we had to prompt Downers to follow up with the ultimate buyers to find out whether they were still interested, only to find that they had recently accepted an offer on their property and were in a position to proceed with the purchase of ours. Fraser was amazing, kept us updated on progress and if we asked or queried anything it was sorted in no time. Everyone that dealt with us was excellent.

So glad we chose to sell our house with Downer & Co! From start to finish we were very impressed with the level of knowledge and experience the agents offered. Stuart and Richard gave us great advice the whole way through and we could not believe how many viewings they managed to secure on our property which resulted in us accepting an offer well above asking price. I have been very impressed with Downer and Co throughout the process - which turned out to be longer than any of us anticipated due to Brexit!
Leo saw the house and made valid recommendations to make it more 'saleable'. For every single viewing Downer and Co confirmed the viewing in advance, accompanied the viewing, left an Initial Viewing Feedback card and followed up with the viewer afterwards.
Fraser took over the sale once we accepted an offer and kept us informed at every stage of the process.
I would definitely recommend Downer and Co.

We have recently sold and purchased with Downer and were very happy with the service we received. Our original sale fell through but Downer managed to ensure that our dream house did not go back on the market and found another buyer for our house as quickly as possible. Once everything was moving forward we received regular updates from Fraser who proactively chased up all parties to ensure the chain moved as quickly as possible. Towards the end of the process Fraser was joining everyone up so we came to the earliest possible completion date, I believe if it wasn't for him things would have taken a lot longer waiting for solicitors to talk to each other. I would definitely recommend Downer for those selling or buying.

Considering buying and selling a property is supposed to be one of the most stressful things you will do as a family, I can honestly say this has been a breeze. From the very start Stuart and Fraser have been amazing. Always kept up to date and given sound, solid and honest advice. Stuart did as he promised sold our house in rapid time and got us our new house! Fraser has been equally amazing and has continuously kept us in the loop the whole way through. In short, the advice I give to anyone who asks is, Use Downer & Co. I believe they market to the right type of client to fit the property. Downer & Co., not only supported their clients in the sale of their property, but supported us as the purchasers. Very disappointing unprofessional service, wouldn't use them again. Continuous problems with the property, constant lip service from Downers, nothing gets done. They protect the landlord for the sake of the tenant. Keep well clear, there are much better agents in ... Read Full Review

We have known Downer & Co for nine years during which time they have always been professional and extremely helpful. They have a wealth of experience and during the past 9 years we have used their services for selling two houses and purchasing one. Richard will always offer good advice, even if its not to your liking, he is honest and we respect that. Fraser takes time to make you feel a valued customer and returns calls promptly. We were looking to purchase a very specific type of property and Richard and Fraser contacted us immediately it became available. Throughout the process they are professional, friendly and helpful and provided an extremely good service, we would not hesitate to recommend or use them again.

From the first meeting it was obvious they were very straight forward and professional, with no false promises or unreal expectations, just an honest and frank appraisal of our home and what we could expect. House sold in nine days, but sale went wrong at the last minute ( not their fault but first in the chain). They immediately went to work and sold again from buyer waiting in the wings. Could not fault these guys, and would recommend them to anyone who wants to sell with minimum strife.
