Whilst I don’t normally do reviews...We recently used Nicol and Co to market our property as I had previously been impressed with their communication following a viewing. They adopt a robust proactive approach which produces results. They utilise a ‘Ready to Sell’ service which ironed out a tricky boundary situation prior to marketing, preventing delays further down the line. They produced impressive photos and virtual tour of our house. I recommend them to a friend who had become frustrated with other agents, she too was very impressed with their service and subsequently marketed her property with them too. They’re on their game and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

My wife and I asked several local estate agents to value our house, including Nicol & Co. We chose Nicol & Co. because we sensed a higher level of motivation and friendliness compared to the other companies.
They valued our house accurately, achieving the full asking price. The transaction was then handled by one of their sales progressors, (Jessica). Our transaction turned into a nightmare because our buyer used probably the best known cut-price online estate agents, who in due course appointed the worst imaginable solicitors. Their solicitors did not even acknowledge multiple communications from Jessica (or our solicitor), let alone action them!
Jessica provided regular updates to us and to the other parties involved in the transaction. When it became apparent that the transaction was in grave danger of collapsing, Jessica escalated the matter to her sales manager (Coralie Walrond).
Coral made an incredible effort to keep the transaction alive. She spent hours every day chasing the solicitors that were causing all the problems. During this period, she kept us updated every day by both phone and email. She also liaised closely with the other parties, keeping them onboard. If it were not for her determination and considerable experience we have no doubt that it would have collapsed. Eventually this paid off and the transaction was successfully completed.
My wife and I give Nicol & Co. our strongest possible recommendation. They always answered their phone promptly and responded to our emails. They demonstrated incredible determination and competence to achieve a successful outcome. They also stood out for their friendly and supportive attitude throughout. We appointed them rather than another local agent primarily because we sensed a higher degree of motivation and friendliness. When the going got tough, our assessment proved to be accurate. This experience has also demonstrated the risks associated with instructing an online cut – price estate agent, and vindicates our decision to appoint Nicol & Co.

We had a very good experience of buying a house with Nicol& co. Our estate agent Dan Westwood was extremely pleasant and professional throughout. He gave unbiased views on the property and there was no sense of being put under pressure. He was always non judgemental and very patient with all his responses to all our questions, of which there were many! Overall made the process of buying a house very pleasant.

We rented a house managed by Nicol and co and from the beginning there were many, many problems from a gas leak to 4 water leaks (showers + roof conservatory, oil tank leak, oil hose leak (in the kitchen!). This is the most important summary, but there was much more. However, the worse was Nicol and co supported the landlord in his behaviour of disrepair. We called the Whychavon council for help. The council forced them to repair all of the above and more, they even broke the deadline the council provided. Nicol and co and the landlord reacted very defensive and the communciation was very bad. We wrote * in the hope of improving the situation, but he reacted defensively too. Luckily, we could finally leave the property. We organised a professional cleaning by a widely recommended organisation but still struggle to get the deposit back. Honestly, we cannot recommend this estate agency for renting a house. It was a nightmare.

A NEW BREED OF ESTATE AGENT WHO GOES MORE THAN THE EXTRA MILE!
One review but based on TWO experiences of Nicol & Co – so no fluke! A bit wordy maybe but surely worth just two minutes of your time given how financially impactive it could be if you choose the wrong estate agent!
Throw away the stereotypical view you have of estate agents – I have! When this company was created it clearly didn't want to become just another option – it wanted to be the ONLY option through its innovative approach, amazing attention to detail and a genuine desire to sell your house for the best price and support you throughout the process.
Would you be happy if your agent:
1. Not only valued your house higher than anyone else but also went on to exceed the asking price
2. Completed a sale subject to contract within 7 days
3. Kept you updated throughout the process and worked hard on your behalf rather than disappear as soon as the sold sign appears - if your agent managed to secure a sale of course.
4. Made you feel like a VIP when you attended their office.
5. Showed great empathy and took away the stress of selling a house so you could relax.
Nicol & Co achieved all of that for me and more! Don't be fooled into thinking a good review is being written just because a good sale price was achieved – it's much, much more than that.
Before I met Karen Smith at Nicol & Co I had dealt with another agent and came out of the market appraisal feeling very stressed and daunted by the whole situation. When I met Karen she promised a lot as all agents do. But I had a good feeling about her (aided by great evidential support of her claims) and I'm so glad I put my trust in her and my instincts. She brought together an amazing mix of professionalism, local knowledge and empathy which resulted in a house sale that was so unbelievably easy for me as the seller – something I could never have imagined writing.
Of course I know that selling my house was a team effort and the office was so friendly with everyone on the sales team having knowledge of my property – what a great impression for any potential buyer I thought.
Normally, when I enter an estate agent's office it feels like you've walked in on something and you stand there waiting until they are ready to speak to you and ask you what you want. So it was somewhat of a surprise when I walked up to the entrance of Nicol & Co's Droitwich office and found Paul Spregg already standing and ready to greet me when I entered. It's these little things that make a big difference!
