Completely unhelpful company. Looking to put an offer on a property but they will not tell the seller the offer until I have seen THEIR mortgage advisor first. I have a Mortgage Agreement with my bank, that I have said I can email to them. The person that is paying them to sell their house has no idea that offers are being refused to be put through.

Not impressed with this agent at all. Most of the time you will not deal with the Huchnall branch you will deal with this finance department based in Burton-on-trent so no point in picking a local agent. Not impressed with this agent at all. Most of the time you will not deal with the Huchnall branch you will deal with this finance department based in Burton-on-trent so no point in picking a local agent. It also means that you will deal with many different people, many of whom have never visited the property. In the last 6 months I have been in email contact with about 6 different people which has obvious problems. It is very clear that their main priority is profit over customer service as I have had several issues I have had to deal with, most of which have been managed badly. Most recently I have been charged for an Income & Expenditure Statement, something I have not requested. Random unexpected charges appear to be normal for this company.

She told us the following day the property had been sold Infact both the properties had been sold.
Hmm none of the properties had been sold on further questioning the Mansfield branch. We made an appointment to see the alleged sold property for this coming Saturday.
We were told no money is taken until an offer of mortgage is on the table, that wasn't true she wants her commission payment before she does any work.though she said she would sort the mortgage out the following day.since she hasn't. She only wants us to call her on her mobile and said she will look for other properties from other companies.
My wife who will be applying for the mortgage was told she was finding it hard to find a lender. Well I'll give her a clue try midshires or mortgage works. wife platinum status credit score

My experience as a landlord with Burchell Edwards started when I found their leaflet in my mailbox as I had a property available for the rental market.
The property had already been on the market for a few weeks and I was planning to have one more agency to help me find a suitable tenant.
At first I was a bit sceptical because the closest Burchell Edwards branch was not that close to my property and, to be honest, I had never heard of them before but after some search on the Internet I could mainly find positive reviews so I decided to try them.
My main contact was Joshua and I had a chance to ask him a few questions and get a better judgement of the agency when he visited my property for a market appraisal.
The positive points that took my attention from the very first time were (in no particular order): absolutely no pressure in offering their services, flexibility in supporting my choice (as I had not chosen yet whether to use them for full management or tenant find service only), clear contract for landlords, prompt reply to any of my questions.
Although it took more than a couple of weeks to find me a good tenant (it was Christmas time and quite dormant for viewings), Burchell Edwards managed to find someone who put an application at the same time she viewed my property.
During the reference check time I had more chances to appreciate Burchell Edwards because their team was supportive to change a clause in the tenancy agreement (not all big estate agencies, from my experience, would change their standard contracts) and I was kept up-to-date almost every day.
And once the property had been let, I also received a copy of the inventory and detailed results of the reference check.
So far my experience has been quite positive and above all stress-free!
I would recommend Burchell Edwards because their team, starting from Joshua, has been very professional, understanding and flexible during all the time.
If you plan to use their services, I would advise to have your property ready (a good decorator helped me make the difference), know your market...and let Joshua and Burchell Edwards take care of the rest.

1. The flat was initially advertised as Unfurnished but we were advised on arriving for a viewing it is actually furnished
2. After putting down a deposit totaling �500 (Mostly fees) and agreeing to let the property we were advised 2 days later that the property did not have a parking space, which is a big problem considering I own a car. This was having confirmed on the viewing a parking space is definitely included with this property and the property being advertised in the way.
3. The �240 part of the fees which i paid to Burchell Edwards has thus far taken 11 days to be returned to my account (despite the management company in London returning the �260 balance instantly). Upon calling to investigate this I had been advised twice that the payment return was in progress however today I have contact the accounts department who advised me

My business partner and myself were extremely pleased with the enthusiastic and relaxed professionalism of Joshua who initially contacted me by mail with a view to market our property and in a short space of time secured two very good tenants.
