Was a comfortable tenancy with the agents. Was able to contact them easily and directly whenever and issue arose, and they would readily solve it and facilitate communication between ourselves and the landlord. Was able to negotiate with them towards the end of the tenancy sorting out the termination quite comfortably. Happy with the overall service provided.

Helpfull as usual if we have even the smallest problem they are always ready to help. 7 year in London and I've been with more then 10 agency, but untill now Austin D'arcy in Shepherd Bush is been the best!!!!!

Eventually we found a house through an alternate agency, however It was horrendous every step of the way. Their overly-involved referencing process took forever, and we routinely struggled to contact them. After this stressful period we had organized the move, with vans already booked. 2 days before the date, the alternate agency informed us the landlord had licensing problems, and we would be unable to move in. We were incredibly stressed, having to go all the way back to square one.

In a last ditch effort, we found what looked to be the last available house that fit our needs, a house advertised by Austin D'arcy.
Gurwin stepped up HUGE. He managed to sort all of the necessary paperwork and referencing in TWO DAYS, something that we had failed to do in two weeks with the other agency. This meant we got to keep to our schedules, not have to pay fees for additional moving vans, and we even ended up with a much better house. Gurwin is an absolute hero!

Fees were OK. We had to pay an admin fee to sign the contract & from memory I think we may have had to pay a inventory fee at the start of the contract. But, those were highlighted to us at the time & it didn't come as a surprise. At the end of the tenancy there were no fees. We had to pay for a professional clean, but we got to choose our own provider. Again though, we were aware of that from the start.

Two friends and I rented a flat with Austin D'Arcy for 3 years in Shepherds Bush.
Whenever I rent a apartment, I always assume that the estate agents / landlord will be horrible or try and rip me off. After many bad experiences of having them lie or try to withhold deposits unfairly, my view of them is very jaded.
I am pleased to say that Austin D'Arcy is the best experience I have had in London.
When we first moved in, the flat was all clean and functional, no bad surprises there.
Generally they, with the landlord, were very quick to repair any faults and tended to be pretty reasonable about things. When our flat got broken into, they paid for a replacement door. When the washing machine broke, they paid for and installed a replacement pretty quickly. When I complained that my bedframe had broken and requested a new one, I got a new one from them. So all happy there.
After living there for 3 years, I was concerned about whether they were going to make it difficult for us to get our deposit back. But it was returned in full within a week of the tenancy ending! We had to pay for a professional end of tenancy clean as part of our contract, but we were allowed to pick our own cleaners and negotiate our own rates with them, so that seemed fair enough.
All in all I have been pleasantly surprised by them and would happily recommend them to a friend.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
Complaints Procedure
Stage One – Contact member of team you have been dealing with We receive very few complaints, however we understand that sometimes things don’t go exactly to plan and occasionally go wrong. If this occurs, we encourage you to try and resolve the situation with the member of our team you have been dealing with. Stage Two – Contact Manager If we are unable to resolve the situation at Stage 1, you may refer the case to the Manager. Where necessary, if the situation remains unresolved, we recommend that the issue is raised within one month of completing Stage 1. The member of team will provide you with the manager’s name and contact details. Alternatively you may write to the Manager at: info@austindarcy.co.uk. We will acknowledge the complaint within three working days of receipt and work with you to try and resolve any issues raised as promptly as possible. A written response to summarise any investigations and steps taken will be sent within fifteen working days. Stage Three – Contact Director If you still remain dissatisfied and wish to further escalate your complaint, you may then write to the Director via post to the following address: 6 Shepherds Bush Road, London, W6 7PJ. Stage Four – Contact The Property Ombudsman If you are not satisfied with the proposed resolution, you may approach The Property Ombudsman Service (TPOS) at www.tpos.co.uk Please note that if you do wish to contact The Property Ombudsman Service (TPOS), you must do so within six months of the date of the final proposed resolution from us. It is also important to note that The Property Ombudsman Service (TPOS) will not consider your complaint until our internal complaints procedure has been exhausted.
