The worst customer service possible: after a skilled sales pitch, you're left in incapable hands of unprofessional unknowledgable careless soulless "management", who can't be bothered to resolve the most basic issues.

I am a landlord and have had to try to intervene to stop Hastings overcharging my tenant - trying to pass on the blame and cost for a mistake they made. I simply can't get hold of them and am very frustrated. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Proceed with caution.

It seems that professional cleaning is not a requirement for this flat and I have to request it specifically on the form. The agent said - the more requirements I had, the less likely it would be for the agent to approve the offer. On top of this the form said that my desired move-in date would not be guaranteed, meaning that the landlord could pull out last-minute. Absolutely ridiculous terms and conditions. The agent said he could call me in a couple of days to check my thoughts on the flat. He never called. Hastings, you and your staff are a joke.

She recognised my urgency and applied the right pressure where it was needed and was reassuring during the whole process. Definitely a recommend!

I recently purchased a property through Hastings International and found Nicola's service to be both professional and personable.
Nicola was helpful throughout the whole process. At viewing stage she demonstrated good knowledge of the property and was able to answer most of my questions; and for those that she didn't have the information at hand, she always ensured she came back to me. During the purchase process she was organised, facilitated communication where applicable and made sure she kept me up to date whenever neccessary.
She was a pleasure to work with and I would definitely reccomend doing so.

I am extremely disappointed about Hastings. They lied to us from the very beginning and DID NOT PROTECT OUR MONEY. We wanted to purchase with the Help to Buy scheme only. We went to visit this flat of which we were in love with and they pushed us to pay the booking fee immediately. After many calls and e-mails we decided to pay and we were guaranteed the Help to Buys was available. After they took the deposit they NEVER SENT A CONFIRMATION IN WRITING OF THE MONEY TAKEN FROM MY ACCOUNT, no receipt no e-mail! They disappeared for 2 weeks! We showed up at the office and talked to the Estate Agent who was following our case to find out Help to Buy was not available. I wonder if they would have ever told us if we didn't show up out of the blue! I was extremely disappointed and were not giving me my deposit of £2.500 back. I had to ask my lawyer to contact them to solve this peacefully. Eventually, after almost a month they gave me the money back, which they WERE NOT ENTITLED TO KEEP FOR THAT LONG!

My girlfriend and I booked the day off work to look at 2 properties. Both of which were arranged by Hastings International.
For both properties we made it clear to two separate Hasting's employees that we were looking for properties on the Help to Buy Scheme.
We turned up to view the first property to hear that none of the properties in the development were available on the Help to Buy Scheme. We were then informed that the second property was also not available on the Help to Buy Scheme. Total waste of our time, money and effort.
It amazes me how unprofessional they were. So unorganised. Different information from different employees. Total shambles.

I'm still completely dumbfounded .
I would never want to write a review like this but I'm fuming over my ordeal with Hastings International.
They had me pay a holding fee to take a room off the market, only to be told 1 hour later that the room had been already been let.
I've been waiting for my money back for 2 weeks now , emailing and calling.
They said it would take 3 working days and 2 weeks later they announced it is now 14 working days.
Just lie after lie, disgusting and unprofessional behaviour.
I didn't get the room and now I need to chase my money which they have no grounds of keeping as they didn't provide me with the service I paid for.

Honestly this entire process has been a disaster. I don't understand the point of having an agency help you when they don't ever advocate for you with the landlord. We looked into moving into this place because there were furnishings. We aren't in London for more than a year and didn't want to invest in furniture. Upon moving in we noticed the large sectional couch had been replaced with a single loveseat. We specifically asked if the large sectional was staying and was one of the largest factors in us selecting this specific apartment to live in as we often have guests over. We also noticed the mold in the bathroom hadn't been taken care of as had been promised. The apartment wasn't clean at all either. The mold was bad enough in the bathroom it couldn't be cleaned and a renovation had to take place, thus pushing back our move in date by two and a half weeks. Our previous lease had ended so we incurred extra inconvenience and cost to find a place to stay (keep in mind the apartment had been empty for at least a month before we moved in and after we signed our lease agreement...so there was plenty of time to remodel when we weren't supposed to be tenants). The landlord refuses to provide more seating (it "isn't in the budget") and the agency isn't convincing him otherwise. There are small broken items in the apartment (such as the bathroom vent) and the property management team doesn't respond to our emails or calls. This is in addition to the application process being a mess (I had to submit the same financial documents THREE TIMES because they were so unorganized). The agency fees and financial check fees are astronomical considering they've done nothing to make this process even remotely easy. There are too many moving parts between the agency, property management, landlord, and background check company. Our calls were often not returned and emails were ignored. I understand the landlord has a lot to do with these problems, but he needs to be let go as a customer then because he is cheap and selfish and promises one thing and does another. I thought the point of an agency was that you wouldn't be taken advantage of. This agency only advocated for the landlord, not the tenants. I understand we aren't their only clients and patience is important, but when I'm paying someone hundreds of pounds for a service I expect quality and to be a priority. In my 8 years as a renter this is by far the worst experience I've ever had. Look somewhere else. You won't be valued as a customer here.

Their fees are failry typical for high street estate agents and at the start of the process, the fees seem a lot, but by the end, with hind sight they are more than worth it and we wouldn't do it differently.

We found them professional and helpful throughout the whole process. We had initially considered an online only estate agent mainly because of the cost, but they more than justified their fee by getting us multiple, serious offers within only a couple of days, helping with all the preparations and arrangements and putting in a lot of effort to get us to exchanging contracts despite many complications towards the end. If we were having to manage this ourselves, I think there were many points where we might have just given up and I don't think we would have got there without their support, professionalism and work on resolving the many unexpected issues that occurred.
