Would most definitely not recommend. I am actually quite shocked at how badly they treated me as a prospective buyer. I viewed a property which was being sold by a company. When I viewed it, I was told that the company had a figure in mind & would most likely reject any offer other than the asking price. The agent, Stephen, told me that they had an offer on the flat but it was lower than the asking price so would probably be rejected. The next day I put in an asking price offer. I got my mortgage approved in principle for the property, got a letter from my lawyer confirming the availability of my deposit and took in all my documents. Jumped through all the hoops as quickly as possible. I was then constantly chasing them to find out if my offer had been accepted. Two weeks later, I noticed that the advert has been adjusted to say they are proceeding with an offer lower than the asking price. Turns out they had a lower accepted offer on the property and had been proceeding with it, despite my higher offer and without telling me anything. They were obviously just keeping me on the back burner in case anything fell through, as the previous sale fell through which is why it was back on the market. When I asked why my higher offer wasn't put forward, I was told they just hadn't managed to get hold of the company selling it. In two weeks? When I asked how they were managing to progress a sale if they can't speak to the company, he couldn't give me an answer. When I asked what he was going to do next, he said the company wouldn't really be interested in another offer just for a couple of grand more. He basically being lazy and couldn't be bothered to do his job properly or do anymore work processing another application and this means I've missed out on a property I fell in love with. And when I asked to withdraw my offer, he didn't even seem fussed. Didn't even apologise or try to make amends. Simply didn't care. Absolutely terrible agency. I would make a complaint with his manager if I thought that would do any good, but considering the quality of staff responsible for property sales, I'm assuming management wouldn't be any better. I've since gone to another agency, who let me know the bad reputation of Burchell Edwards & that they were losing properties left, right and centre because of their poor service.

They persuaded us to wait for this 'definite' buyer (personal friend?!) then could not be contacted when we heard via the Agent selling the property we were buying that we no longer had a buyer. Shocking

I managed to put my property at rent with this agent,was fixed with a tenant who failed finance check but was told she has a guarantor ,was reassured and contract signed ,with tenant as expected made up different accusations,eventually leaving property in a week ,threatening re legal proceedings as agent has misled them as well.poor service in relation to getting refund back,staff always annoyed,not returning calls .very angry ð¡ and hope this company goes in administration soon.

I have arranged viewings with various estate agents and was appalled by the shocking way Burchell Edwards treat their prospective buyers. Staff took days to arrange viewings, had to be chased as they would not call you back when they said they would, were abrupt, unreliable and downright rude on the phone and generally had a completely don't -care attitude. We arranged what we thought was a simple viewing for one property (waiting over a week) only to find that 16 people had been invited to an 'open' viewing between 15:00-15:30 and people were literally queueing up the garden path to get in the front door. I feel this perfectly illustrates their condescending attitude to customers as merely numbers. In the end we refused to deal with the company again. IlPlenty more estate agents in the area (highly recommend Greens and Paul Carr) - do not waste your time with these cowboys!!

shockingly bad service. Tried to acquire a property through this agent that had been on the market for a while. They were not very good at returning calls or keeping me updated on the offer progress. Was messed around with how my offer was dealt with. I felt that they were borderline breaking financial ombudsman guidelines and it seemed as though the main aim was to benefit themselves and not the vendor or the buyer. This agent will accept an offer, remove it from the market and still offer it to someone else! Would not deal with this agent again, even if they had my dream house!!
