My parents have been renting a property from this agent for a number of years. Some of the needed repairs were handled well in the past, but recently dealing with Ian Thomas has become a nightmare. The growing mould problem was as far as he was concerned, our fault. I pointed out to him that the kitchen sink was rotting away, and nothing had been addressed since my parents reported the problem to him in July of this year. His response was to wave his finger centimeters away from my face, and shout at the top of his voice. At one point his spit went on my face. He then walked through my seventy year old mother, and if she hadn't have moved aside she would have been knocked down. I went straight to his office for a futher chat with him, and he was apologetic. He then came out with some nonsensical document that stated I was to be responsible for the upcoming mold inspection, if its found to not be a structural issue which I didn't sign. In retro respect, I have been too forgiving and tolerant with this man. I will be making a formal complaint to the relevant authorities. Having read the reviews here, it seems this treatment of tenants is nothing new. My advice is to avoid all dealings with this estate agent. I've met some bad agents in my time, but this experience has by far been the worst.
The agent needs to not be abusive to tenants. Tenants deserve to be treated fairly and in a polite manner.

Arrived on time for viewing (rental property) and the agent walked straight past us and unlocked the door. Did not introduce himself or show any practical knowlege of basic people skills. Requires £200 application fee for rental property, only half of which will be returned in the event of the application not being successful. Went home and threw the application papers in the bin.

The Agent could have instructed repairs to be done and quite honestly he could have been more professional when speaking over the telephone
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
