I got an email confirming my appointment to view an apartment. I had had a long conversation with the agent prior to that, explaining I was relocating from the North of England and that I would be driving down to see this and another property with the same agent at Waterview.
I arrived on time (after a five hour drive). No sign of the agent. I called the office only to be told that the agent I was due to meet was “out of the office”. When I enquired further as to whether he was on his way to meet me, I was told he was busy and not available.
When I tried to get to the bottom of what was going on, the excuse offered was that they had sent me an email at 8.30am that day to say nobody could meet me. I told them I had been driving since 7am and am not in the habit of reading my emails whilst on the road. Nobody had bothered to call me - as would be the case with professionals who are serious about providing the best possible service.
The girl on the end of the phone did her best to apologise, so I have no gripe with her! What I do think is appalling, is the complete disregard for people’s time and effort and a lack of respect, decency and professionalism that is simply jaw-dropping.
I wonder if all estate agents around London are the same…..?

Do not use this agent. After an horrific screening process when they had a credit check done, they got the credit check for the wrong person. The inventory company which they used refused to speak to us when we wanted to add in additional complaints ...

What agent could do to change your mind?
They could have done their job properly in the beginning and got the credit report for the correct person. They could actually be useful when you try to speak to them rather than passing straight onto the landlady. They could even not lock the tenants out of the flat.
