My contact with CityRooms started out of desperation. I was living in another property in London, but had no contract, the landlady decided she wanted to rent the whole house and not the rooms seperatly has she had before, and so we had to move out. This all in mid februrary, and since by the end i still hadn't found a property, and only had one week left until I had to move out, I turned to cityrooms.
Now, don't get me wrong they will find you a house in no time, but like in my case if they see you're desperate they will refuse to show you the property (like they did to me) because it's so short notice i would be too much trouble (like what....) and it will be a dump.
Now the house was dirty super super dirty, we had a cleaning lady every 15 days and she stayed there like 3 hours cleaning the common areas, but it's not enough since 5 people were living in the tinniest house, with 4 bedrooms, no living room, a super small kitchen and one bathromm. My room was not cleaned before i moved in and probably once or twice in it's entire life. There were bugs everywhere, specially near the window. There was a rat in the kitchen, that refused to live eventhough they said they had done plenty of rat killing treatments. And when i arrived i realised there were no bedding, no pillow no nothing, i had to buy everything... Which was a lot of duvets, since the central heating was broken and the house was freezing cold, and no matter how many times we complained and called them nothinf was ever done.
Eventually the covid-19 closed my university on the 23rd of march and i moved back home on the same day. They refused to give me back my payment of April, they were super rude when i handed in the keys and talked to them. And 3 weeks later when I told them i wanted my depodit back they refused to and made up deductions of gas (the house was 100% electricity runned) and gas (when the heating never even worked properly).
Anyway after months of back and forth emails I raised a dispute on mydeposits and won. However the rent for April is money I will never see again (since they say in order to get it back you have to find someone to take over of letting, and i don't want anyone to have to live in that house in the middle of a pandemic, since I myself, left that house with an awfull cold).
Don't work with them it's just not worth the headaches, the only good thing about is you'll want to spend to little time inside that house, you'll get out of your confort zone and have a great time in London.
Best of luck to everyone and i hope my review was helpfull.
