Selling as Executor from a distance of 45 miles, I had the sad job of selling my late sister's flat in Newbury Park. Haarts in Barkingside were my sole representatives on the ground and Alex Gowers, the Senior Manager, was always understanding and helpful. Over a difficult period that included a letting for three years before we were ready to sell, Alex was always there, patiently looking after my interests. During the eventual sale period which included the Lockdown when I was self isolated at home, Alex continued to act as my 'front man', undeterred although seemingly operating as a one-man-band. I never had less than total confidence in him and his judgement. Alex was backed up by Tony Hallett, the Senior Residential Sales Consultant who, despite being furloughed, still helped me with valuable advice on more than one occasion. On completion, Tony willingly sorted out all the necessary details on the ground on my behalf, such as meter readings and collecting mail which he then sent on to me. Tony certainly knows his job and he was always ready to offer his advice and assistance. Amanda Schiavi has to be mentioned. You would always want Amanda on your side. At the messy sale time when various managing agents, surveyors and solicitors all needed their heads cracked together, Amanda was terrific. She is tough and resilient, with a good sense of humour, and knows how to get things done. Haarts have a very good team at Barkingside.
