Peter Alan have been infinitely hopeless at every stage of this process and I continue to be disgusted by their behavior months after I have left the property.
On the day of moving in, I was refused the keys to the house because they had not completely their gas safety checks on time. This left me, and all of my belongings, homeless for three days until it was rectified.
Upon moving in, the house was empty although I had specifically requested that the house remain furnished. Peter Alan's incompetence forced the landlord to remove their furniture at short notice, which I was then forced to replace, costing us both time and money.
When there was an issue with the heating, this was addressed only by a DO NOT USE - IMMEDIATE DANGER OF DEATH leaving me without heating for the length of my tenancy.
The company repeatedly elected not to give notice of inspections despite being legally required to give at least 24 hours notice. This included having workmen enter the property the trim the garden hedge at the request of neighbours without informing me.
When my housemate moved out, I was recharged agency fees and reference fees for no reason. I then received correspondence informing me of the date I would need to move out, when I wasn't leaving.
Upon moving out, I was told to just pop the keys through the letterbox instead of actually speaking to a human and having my key return in writing. Obviously, I didn't trust the company enough to do this.
After leaving, I received voicemail messages mistakenly addressed to the landlord containing confidential information regarding the property.
£300 was deducted from my deposit return for rubbish removal which referred to items that I had specifically left behind as they belonged to the landlord. All disputes were denied.
Three months after leaving the property, I still have not received my deposit back.
I look forward to never dealing with this company again.
