What a rubbish agent! If it was possible to give them 0 out of 5, I would! They came up with the idea of doing an 'Ebay' style auction for my house, but pitched the starting bid price £30k under the asking price. This may have worked, except this took the starting price into the 1% stamp duty bracket, whereas the actual asking price was in the 3% bracket. Obviously, nobody wanted to bid into the 3% bracket, so lots of time was wasted by haart showing people round who couldn't even afford the house! Had to argue to get the names of these viewers too, as our insurance company advised no cover if we let total strangers into our house without us being there..... After we told haart to stop mucking around and to market our house normally, we had several viewings where we did not know who we/haart were showing round as no confirmation emails ever sent by haart. Haart were also unable to get us feedback on over 50% of the viewings which took place, and this after them criticising our previous agent (haart said they would never be so rude as to just give feedback by email, but at least with the previous agent, we did get feedback!). The final insult is that now we have decided to market our house for sale through an online agent, we asked haart to provide us with a comprehensive list af all the people who had viewed our property through them. They have not only provided this, but have also included the details of all the people who made an appointment to view, but for some reason didn't show up! Didn't realise their 6 month clause that if we accept an offer from someone who has viewed our house through haart also means we will be liable for their fee if we accept an offer from people who hasn't actually viewed our house through haart! Haart are also now ignoring our emails asking for a corrected list of viewers, so we have no way of knowing if future viewers have already seen our house! Entirely unacceptable and unprofessional! Use this agent at your own risk as they are by far the worst we have ever had the misfortune to encounter!

Apr 13, 2012We have just been told by haart that they do not give out lists of viewers and it is company policy not to, we wanted the list to avoid accepting an offer from someone who may have viewed through them. Please formalise your complaint we have and the ombudsman is now involved!

I would never recommend Haart lettings as I had a very bad experience with them. I paid holding deposit to Haart for a flat for letting in Croydon but had the toughest time to get back my money as the deal didn’t go through. I made ‘n’ number of follow ups but just received false promises from Haart that the money will be credited back to my account in a few days. My calls were not answered most of the times and no one bothered to call me back. Finally I had to go directly to Haart office two times and follow up to get my money back. The behaviour of the associates in the office were not welcoming. They claimed that the delay was due to some system error which is very hard to believe. Eventually it took more than a month for a small amount to be refunded. I don’t think Haart is worth it. There are a lot of other letting agents who are far better than this and I would recommend to go with any one of those.

We have had the most professional of relationships with Brad & his team at Haarts, Croydon.
From the offing, from finding the correct tenants to empathetic helpful communications at every stage (and there are many!), has been a breath of fresh air! This was in total contrast to our previous experience of renting which left us with repair costs of over £10,000 for a small 2-bed property.
Brad inspires confidence during these unusually challenging times and understands this business in every sense…a rare find!

If you're looking for a un-responsive, un-professional agency to let your property through, you have found the correct place.
Me and my partner had been interested in viewing at property in Croydon which on Thursday we have made an initial call to register our interest, to which no one in the 'team' was available and had been promised a call back, which never happened.
The following day we tried agin multiple times at different times in the day, which again the lettings team were all on 'calls' or 'appointments'. We had asked to speak with the lettings manger Brad, which we had been assured would give a call back the same day... of course, this never happened.
Day three we tried again on Saturday to book a viewing, again with a number of calls in the day to their offices to which again we had been promised a call back by Brad the lettings manger to book a viewing. Unfortunately Brad cannot even 'manage' to dial phone let alone manage a lettings department as it came to the end of the day on Saturday and after been spoken to in a dismissive tone by various colleges from other branches again we had not been able to reach the lettings team.
We again tried to contact the offices on Monday to which we had finally got through to Brad, to book a viewing in for today.
We then receive a call this morning to inform us the proeprty we had tried 5 days to book in to view had now been taken as a deposit had been placed.
To me, it seems very convenient for our calls to be ignored and then be told the proeprty has been taken.
I feel the reason behind this could be due to discrimination towards me and my partner either relating to our jobs, race or age.
Please landlords, if you wish to rent your property and want to have a good relationship with your tenants, DO NOT USE Haart estate agents, and to all tenants, if you wish to view a property do not get your hopes up and have the persistence to perceiver to get your viewing as it could take 5 days plus.

Appalling service when we let our house through the South Croydon Office. Used the Full Management Service which was expensive but we thought would be useful as we were moving abroad. Returned to find Haart had not carried out a final check out, the tenants had left the house filthy, keys not returned and some criminal damage caused. Haart were unable to organise a house clean, we had to do this ourselves and pay for it, together with getting locks changed, (tenants gave keys to others who tried to get back into house after our return). Emails unanswered for long periods, Haart would not take any responsibility for major works they commissioned on our behalf and were unsatisfactory. A totally awful experience with this agent which was very expensive and stressfull.

Having had 2 rather unprofessional estate agents in Croydon attempt to sell one of my properties last year, I thought I would look further and telephoned Haart. Phone was answered by a gentleman named Richard in letting. I asked to be transferred to sales at which point the line went quiet. Something like 2 minutes later I got the unobtainable tone.
