STAY AWAY FROM THE ABINGDON BRANCH OF MARTIN AND CO!
Martin and co have the most unhelpful, rude and incompetent bunch of staff I have ever known! I would like to point out a few facts about the way they treated myself and my partner while we were tenants; we were left with no heating or hot water for 10 days, after a week someone came and dumped two fan heaters to our flat (one was faulty too) he came to the door with no apologies. Philip told me time after time that the heating had been fixed and it defiantly had not as the radiators were stone cold; when they finally sent a half decent plumber round he had no idea of what had happened because of the managements complete lack of communication! When a family member had called to complain about our situation the manager said 'well they don't have children' this is undoubtedly because we are a young couple which they thought they could take advantage of! I would NOT recommend Abingdon's Martin and Co branch to anyone, they are obviously incapable of doing their jobs and show no remorse for their actions toward us! After having altercations with Philip over our boiler situation, they sent him around for our check out, I immediately knew that he would cause problems due to his previous childish behaviour and he certainly didn't fail to live up to expectations! He spent one and a half hours checking our one bedroomed almost empty flat which I scrubbed from top to bottom (and it was cleaner than when we moved in) and to top it all off he actually writ into the inventory that their was ONE hair on the bathroom floor, when we asked to see where this 'hair' was it seemed to have disappeared, and his reasoning for even bothering to write this in was 'it differs from the check in inventory' a hair is hardly going to stay there for over a year! They are now trying to charge £90 for cleaning! This is the most ridiculous and laughable excuse of a company.

We do find some tenants think they have left a property clean, when in reality they have not. We carry out detailed inventories to ensure we have full documentation of the property condition on move in, and would natrally expect tenants to leave the property in the same condition ready for the next tenant. I realise this can be an annoyance to a tenant who was not able to clean the property correctly.
We are the only agent in Abingdon with our own fully qualified inventory clears, he knows each property very well as he also conducts the inspections and checkouts, this consistency ensures our high standards in managing a property is maintained.
Can I give a tenant a score and ensure the score gets passed on to his new landlord, it would be very important information to a new landlord! This tenant would score quite low, and we would be unwilling to relet to them as they were unable to communicate in a mature manner and understand that not all problems can be resolved a quickly as they would like.
