If I could give -1 I would. After being convinced the apartment we were looking at was only available for a short period of time we have been left with nothing but problems. Spencer Countrywide lack of communication is appalling, we were given none of the information that matters about the apartment we ended up letting.
The apartment in the exchange itself is ok apart from the plumbing, we were left for numerous days with no water at all and sewage filling our bathroom and kitchen sink, even though speaking to employees at the Spencer's leicester who just passed the blame or told us they would sort it out and then never returning calls or calling when they promised they would, knowing our work hours they wold just finish at half five and not even call to let us know they couldn't fix it that day, considering they were acting landlord (we were given nothing but a name for the actual landlord and assured spencer deals with all problems) .
We also revived bills late followed by demands for the payment on bills that were dated months ago and when questioned as to why they were late they would just not reply.
This is a tiny proportion of the trouble spenders have left us in.
After reading google reviews it seems Spencers only cares for the landlords (if that) and not tenants as I know the only review based tenancy on google is from the same person who let us our apartment!
I strongly advise anyone looking to rent from Spencers to go elsewhere. They are the worst company I have every dealt with. STAY AWAY.

Would leave no stars if I could. For months they've been demanding £50 for a fee and are now threatening me with more fees. What is the fee for? They can't tell me! Phone calls and emails happen over and over with me asking what it is the fee is for? They say rent arrears. I say I paid my rent. They say oh, um, it was January's rent. I show proof of Jan's rent too. Response: Oh, February actually... So I show proof of February's rent. And every time I ask what this £50 fee is for and they *never* tell me! I've lived here longer than they've managed the property, so it's nothing to do with moving in or anything! Today in answer to my question about what the fee's for, they just sent another angry demand for payment! Not to mention the damp that I've reported that they've twice now just sent someone to paint over. Like thanks lads, now there's paint peeling off the wall all over my damp kitchen. Again. They've told me the landlord is refusing to perform repairs. I don't doubt they're telling the landlord I'm a bad tenant to hide their own incompetence.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Agents fees are disgusting. They chase them even when they've list you money, failed to sell your property and are very difficult to deal with (until they want money). Daylight robbery. Would you pay for shopping twice? No

I'm disgusted and angry and the service (or lack of) from countrywide. Made me sign a 5 month contract confident they were going to sell my house (or take fees regardless). Within a week I was told there was a buyer so I got a conveyancing team on it. What they failed to tell me (correspondence was poor) was that the buyer had changed his mind and they were looking for another buyer which they found. This started in march 2015. By October I was wondering where this sale was going so called solicitor who advised me this buyer was too wasting time over an insurance policy (not my problem). I told the conveyancing team to tell countrywide to forget it as obviously not up to job so I appointed another agent. For a start this other agent marketed my property via Internet and boards. Something countrywide failed to do. In DECEMBER nearly 9 months later the other agent sold my house. Now all of a sudden these incompetent greedy people are trying to take �7000 plus vat off me? It's utterly disgusting especially as have mental health disorder and other party is an old lady. They held up our lives and cost us so much money yet have the cheek to ask for money for nothing. I would steer well clear of these robbing criminals Will never use again
