It was a terrible experience with Madley Property because the agent was pushy, irresponsible, unreliable and didn't follow up any case when I encountered dispute with the landlord during the tenancy period. The agent ignored my call and email when I needed her help for dealing with the unreasonable landlord because there was no check in and inventory provided and done by the landlord at all before. Even when I could reach out to the agent, she kept saying that the property was managed by the landlord, not Madley so she couldn't do anything when the tenancy agreement started, which I think the agent herself and Madley want to avoid taking any responsibilities on any rented flat. It is really odd because Madley's responsibility is not just arranging property view, but also needs to have after-sales follow up and provide advice on dispute between the tenant and landlord. I can say there is NO customer care and service at all. Madley just received the agency fees and did nothing for the tenant in terms of professional advice and customer service.
Also, Madley should check clearly about the quality of landlord because this is unfair to the tenant and cause unnecessary dispute after check-out. I think reference check should be done on the landlord as well, not just only for tenant. At the end, I was deducted more than £500 from my deposit due to no check in and out done by the landlord or agency, which was absolutely awful and nightmare. As a professional property agency, I really think Madley should take step to protect the tenant as well. In case of any dispute between the tenant and landlord, Madley should have given advice to the tenant on how to solve the problem with the landlord, avoiding unnecessary dispute and deposit deduction. I think Madley is not a professional property agency at all and would definitely not recommend to anyone else. If you want to rent a flat in London, please go for another sizeable agency.
