I had an extremely disappointing experience with * at Winkworth Tilehurst. Throughout the process, there was a complete lack of communication and professionalism. I was never provided with proper updates regarding the property, and despite multiple attempts to get in touch, my inquiries were either ignored or met with vague responses. To make matters worse, the communication I did receive was rude and unprofessional. As a customer, I expected a much higher standard of service, but unfortunately, my experience was frustrating and unacceptable. I would not recommend dealing with Winkworth Agency due to the poor handling of clients and lack of basic courtesy. A more customerfocused and professional approach is needed.

I scheduled a viewing with Winkworth for a property in Reading, making sure to arrive on time despite coming from another county and arranging childcare. However, upon arrival, the agent informed us that the property was extremely filthy, with rubbish everywhere, and deemed it too disgusting to be viewed. This lack of prior inspection was incredibly frustrating, especially after making such efforts to attend. It feels unfair to waste both time and money due to this oversight. Very dissatisfied with the service.

Family of 4, boiler not working. They are the property managment the landlord selected. Called on Saturday morning, they wasted our time with information downloaded from the Internet I looked up myself too. Eventually they claimed I had no gas when I mentioned the hobs were working. So they decided to call on Monday to see if they could send someone to take a look. It was forecasted to be -5 degress during the night and it was like that. I had to call myself an emergency service, pay it, and of course it wasn't the gas. Totally careless people as humans and business. Cannot say as a landlord but if you are renting best to stay away from them. Reading office

As a renter I can tell you the Property management at Winkworth is unresponsive and has no sense of urgency.
Hot water heater blew up days before a bank holiday. Not deemed an emergency we were left without hot water for 10 days as plumber didn't come till following Wednesday and then pfaffing about with excuses of "finding parts" when it was a replacement that was being done. Implored for expedite but told no in an email so proof they refused and deemed it not emergency.
Lifts in the building are always out of order. During summer and 40 degree weather we had to walk up and down 6 flights of stairs for a week in one outage. In 6 months tenancy outages were monthly ranging from 3 days to a week.
When I moved out (early, had enough and paid up rent so I didn't not pay) the lift went out of order so I had to pay movers a premium and Winkworth and the building management refused to cover the excess. I rented a "luxury penthouse" 3 bedroom 3 bath that was anything but luxury itbwas a rip off.
The the new hot water heater kept shutting down, no hot water again for 3 days. Told by technician there was a wiring fault and he disconnected Economy 7 saying they had to rewire but landlord refused to fix so we had no energy efficiency and our electric bills were £650 a month for 2 people residing using lights, kitchen, and fans for cooling off. This old building is nit energy efficient. To compare our new flat out electric bill is £178. Go figure.
With all the issues we had (there were more but I think I made my point, Winkworth was unhelpful and unprofessional with the tenants. Happy to have you sign a lease but don't care afterwards if you are living like you're in a slum and paying for "luxury penthouse".

14 years dealing with different agencies in New Zealand and the UK, I have always get my deposit back in full apart of Winkworth. Never deal with you anymore....

It has been so quick and easy dealing with Winkworth. Winkworth are without doubt the most professional and friendly estate agency we have ever worked with. Having sold many houses, working with Michael, Jon and Robin was an absolute breath of fresh air.
They are proactive in seeking real buyers rather then relying on house sale portals to do the work for them. Winkworth attend and manage all the viewings very professionally and continually provide feedback via email, text and phone calls.
More than a dozen viewings were organised very quickly and the house sale was agreed in just a couple of months. This included the negotiation of a buyer deposit for peace of mind.
Winkworth also provided excellent advice, worked with our solicitors throughout the exchange/completion process, and hit every deadline they promised including the full management of the complete housing chain.
Excellent value for money - my wife and I heartily recommend their services to anyone selling their house in the current challenging climate.

We were feeling a little bit uneasy after moving to the UK from the states and being burned by a number of agents. After being cited fees that were extremely high (almost a full months rent by one agent) we found Winkworth.
Many agents were not straightforward and even tried to hide their ridiculous fees. James and the team at Winkworth were extremely transparent and great to work with. Everyone on the team was great with communication and have always been prompt. The team went above and beyond to help us move in on short notice.
We felt great about our experience with Winkworth.
