Oh dear, I dont even know where to start.
We signed the agreement end of June to move in one month later. We stipulated several times in the email correspondences that we wanted to come in to see which furniture and items we wanted to keep and which to toss. The day of the move in happened, and we never received a response to our queries (the agent went on holiday without telling us and the new woman taking over, was all in all very unreasionable). When we moved in, we were then told that we had not specified in the contract, which items to get rid of (we specifically wrote in the contract: to be specified later – hence why we needed access to the flat prior to moving in – and this request was accepted by the agent). It was a hassle to get the woman to cooperate and she kept saying we hadn't agreed on this (numerous emails/contract were not enough proof (I bet some contract lawyers would disagree)). Ah well!!! After several unpleasant calls, we finally managed to get the approval of moving the items and have the larger items removed by a company. But boy oh boy that was a struggle and time consuming.
After having moved in properly a vast majority of the things listed in the contract hadn't been fixed ie. Heating was broke, cabinets broken, extractor fan broken, windows dirty etc etc. And we even had to throw out 6 large boxes of CRAP – which the agency said was at our expense. Items included: old shoes, belts, broken kitchen units, bondage kit (WOOOOH.. What a surprise), filthy storage room with empty shoe boxes, broken fans, blood stained linen, dirty old pillows and blankets and numerous other fairly disgusting items.
We have now asked quite a few times, when we can expect to have fans, toilet flush, extractor fan, broken cabinets, heating etc fixed and we are still awaiting a reply to this. It has been 7 business days since we moved in, so I do hope it gets sorted soon and the agency improves. I really didnt think having these items binned prior to moving in was a huge ask.
All in all, TERRIBLE SERVICE!! I wouldn't recommend.

Agency has a very poor communication system. Messages are not consistent. From the minute they secure my holding confirmation messages started being inconsistent. Check out procedures conducted in an unprofessional way and try to make money off tenants by suggesting deductions from deposit from things such as a "new microwave" when the property in question didn't have a microwave in the first place.

There was a difficulty at the stage of signing the contract as the first version of the contract that Woody sent to me was not worked out properly; apparently, he did not check the text before sending it. The numbering was totally wrong, there were links to non-existing claims and also strange claims such as "This Agreement falls outside the scope of the Housing Act 1988". Luckily, I sought advice before signing the contract and had a long list of changes. This resulted in Woody sending me a totally different draft, which my advisor found OK. Finally, Woody was able to include in the contract all the claims I wanted (mostly concerning the deposit security scheme), he again was helpful and flexible.
I am now renting the property for ca. 2 months and everything is going very well. My tenant is very nice and I am very happy with my flat. I appreciate Woody's advice at the stage of choosing the property and his help during the negotiations. Despite the difficulty with the signing of the contract, I would recommend working with Winkworth, Pimlico, since they were able to resolve the problem when it arose. However, no matter who you work with, always seek advice before you sign the contract.

Hello We have recently rented a property in SW1 through Winkworth Pimlico. The letting agent, Alexandra, was very understanding of our needs and a pleasure to deal with - we were sorry to hear she no longer works there.
Also we would like to make special mention of Joanne, who liaised closely with us and stayed late in order to handover the keys to us after our flight was delayed on the day the tenancy commenced. agreed a sale above the asking price within days of marketing. However, the buyer quickly withdrew and we subsequently went back to the market and received multiple bids and achieved well in excess of the asking price. I was very impressed with how both Jonathan and Edward dealt with the interested parties but focussed on achieving the best price within the time constraints I gave them.
Once the sale was in solicitors hands Edward did a very professional job in driving the sale and keeping informed throughout.
I have a lot of experience dealing with agents in London and I would not hesitate to recommend the team at the Winkworth Pimlico office.

I would like to commend both Woody and Jonathan for the following points: 1 - when I had a low offer of rent Woody sold me the idea that I should accept. When I asked for a lower commission charge Jonathan was flexible and gave it to me. 2 - When I was shocked that your company should want to take the full commission for a full year and I refused to pay, as the first month rent would was short by over £200, Joanna sorted it all out so that I was only charged six months in advance. I am grateful for this as a small landlord cash flow is a problem and I feel it is uncalled for to charge the full commission for something that I have not received. There are only 2 other companies who apply this policy: Marsh & Parsons and Foxtons. I NO LONGER DEAL WITH THEM. I hope Winkworth will not follow in the footsteps of those 2 companies, who are ruthless, greedy and nasty and only seem to care about money and not people. The employees of Winkworth are really lovely, clever and helpful. Do not tie them hands down and please do not adopt the greedy policies of those companies. I appreciate loyalty and human contact and understanding. I give it back. This is how I wish to continue to work.

I just bought a lovely flat in Pimlico. Sara Lowry did help me on that transaction. I must say that having dealt with various agents, Sara was particularly reactive and proactive, keeping me updated on the status of the deal. And this from the first time I went to see the property until we completed. She was also terrific at "managing" the seller who -understandably- was getting a bit anxious because on my end I was quite slow in getting everything organised. So all in all a very positive experience. I have now given the mandate to Winkworth to let/manage the flat, proving that I have been very satisfied with their services.

Completion went smoothly and the keys were all ready to collect at completion time.

We recently bought our house through Winkworth in Pimlico. Sara Lowry was our agent and the transaction was deftly and skillfully backed up by Jonathan Joy. This was a difficult transaction but Sara could not have been more brilliant at keeping the seller on board and keeping the purchase together. She was calm, kind and knew how to get things done. She was very communicative, helpful, knowledgeable and smart. We really felt that she got just how much the purchase meant to us and although she is of course a business woman we really felt she understood the personal and human side to buying a house. I read a profile recently of the comedian Michael McIntyre who said he touches the bricks of his house every day as he can't believe that it's his and that he could be that lucky. That is exactly how we feel about our new home, it's a dream come true and would not have been possible without Sara and Jonathan at Winworth Pimlico. This is a super estate agency and it is with great pleasure that we submit this recommendation of them.
