Railton-Meeks are a Didsbury property management and letting agents, founded in 2006 by Tara Meeks as a vehicle to manage her expanding property portfolio. The client base gradually grew with many of the original clients still with the business today.

Today RM manages a mixture of HMO and professional flats and houses. Helping many different types of Landlords with their property investments. RM has a strong administration team, and a core group of tradespeople and an ‘In House’ Maintenance Team for the smaller jobs.

I lived in a Railton meeks ran property for 5 years. Imo they're a very good agency and in general very organised and attentive. For example, always gave 24 hrs notice before coming to the property, always acted in good faith with maintenance requests especially with urgent things like leaks and fridges where days mattered to me. Sometimes things didn't go to plan but they were often quick to rectify or find a different tradesperson. Mostly they weren't overbearing with regular inspections, but when they would visit they would often identify things to paint, or other maintenance to do. Took a mould issue seriously when mentioned and also monitored the gardeners and cleaners to make sure they visited. They also sorted the gas and fire safety every year which is much appreciated. All their staff past and present were friendly but a particular mention to Sylvia and Jenya who were always very friendly, helpful, responsive and hardworking! If you're a tenant who wants your house to be in good repair or if you're a landlord who wants an agency who are on top of the details I would thoroughly recommend! From experience, not all agencies are this good! Thanks for all the hard work over the years :) Wish you all the best!

Very helpful agents!
Railton-Meeks were great agents, helping us to find a flat during the first COVID-19 lockdown. Throughout our tenancy over the last 12-months they were quick to respond to our issues and queries. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and the flat itself was clean and safe.

I moved out of this property in June after a year tenancy, and I can honestly say it was the worst tenancy of my life. The property was in a terrible state when we moved in, with lots of furniture broken, worn and ripped carpets, a broken fridge and generally filthy condition. We reported this through the maintenance site we were given, however these problems took months to fix if they were even fixed - my broken draws in my room took 10 months to even be looked at. This was an ongoing problem throughout the tenancy, in which time the oven broke, the fridge broke, and the ceiling in the living room collapsed to name a few of the problems. On top of this, our house had a mouse infestation that we weren’t made aware of when we moved in, and which after months was never sorted. Although the agency did send out pest control, the problem was huge holes in the kitchen behind the cupboards which took months to be fixed, and other holes in the house which were never fixed. For almost half of the tenancy I had to sofa surf between friends houses, as there were mice in my upstairs room pooing all over the carpets and even in my bed, and running around at night. We were given rent reduction for the last month, totalling £50 - an amount which didn’t even begin to cover the cost of mouse traps and supplies throughout the year and the cost of having to live in alternative accommodation while the house was literally uninhabitable. The agency showed no empathy whatsoever for this problem and said things like “there wasn’t much they could do” and it wasn’t their fault and “we should have asked if there were mice when we moved in”, despite admitting that they wouldn’t live in the property or allow their daughters to live there. In particular, Rachel, Tara and Sylvia were rude, nasty and uncaring on the phone when me and my housemates called in distress. To top this off, the agency have now taken money off our deposit for a carpet clean, even though the carpet was in horrendous condition when we moved in, and also had mice pooing and weeing on it all year. They have also charged us for a light bulb that was working fine when we moved out. I think that this is shameful given what we went through in that property. We have disputed these charges to Deposit Protection Service. I genuinely feel so sorry for the next tenants living in the property, or anyone dealing with Railton Meeks agency - I would hope the agency feel some remorse for ruining young people’s lives and putting them through what we went through. I expressed this to Tara at Railton Meeks over email and was ignored.

Myself and my partner recently found ourselves in a difficult situation, our current landlord decided to sell her property and we were given two months notice to leave. We have three young children, so this was incredibly stressful us.
From the moment we got in touch with RailtonMeeks, we were put at ease and made to feel like they genuinely wanted to help. We dealt primarily with Jorge, who has been amazing through every step of the process. From his initial conversation with my partner, to when we met him a tour of the property, he made us feel very comfortable with RailtonMeeks as an agent. We had a few hiccups with the reference checks as I bank primarily in another country, however Jorge was very active in sorting any issue and finding alternative ways to make this happen us. His customer service is truly excellent, and I know that any issues we may have over our time at the property will be resolved quickly. We have also interacted briefly with Sylwia, who has also been excellent with her customer service. We are now in our home with three very happy and excited children, thanks to Jorge and RailtonMeeks 😊

They have been managing our HMO for 6 years and have dealt with everything in an excellent manner, including rent collection, repairs and difficult tenants. I would highly recommend them to any landlord not wishing to manage a property themselves.
