I've never met Olatunde/Carl. I live in Vancouver Canada. But I just watched a Netflix program that follows douchebag landlords in the U.K. This Olatunde/"Carl" guy is a dick. Seriously. He's a complete dick. He ripped off this awesome woman named Margaret. She actually petitioned his 'business," wearing one of those sandwich boards. She's a tough girl and I hope she got to mess Olatunde/Carl up. If you happen to run into Olatunde/Carl, boot-fuck the clown (that means beat him up). Or contact me at corbettstu@gmail.com so I can do it. I was born in Birmingham and am planning a visit home. I'm an avid scuba diver and can't wait to dive the Channel. So I wanna visit home, dive all the Channel wrecks....and if the opportunity presents itself, give Carl/Olatunde a smack in the chops. I'd also buy Margaret a beer. She's bad-ass.

After moving out from a property let by Christopher Stanley Ltd (September 2013) we waited 3 months to get our deposit back but the company has failed to returned it ( �1200). We contacted all three government-authorised tenancy deposit protection schemes to learn that Christopher Stanley Ltd has never registered our deposit which was their legal duty.
After our Letter before Action was ignored we applied for the County Court and received order against Christopher Stanley Ltd (March 2014). who owes us now �1200 (deposit), �3600 compensation fee and �175 court fee. Christopher Stanley Ltd requested the order to be put aside (October 2014) but we won again at our second hearing as they have failed to provide any reasons. (December 2014).

Olatunde 'Carl' Afilaka has been pursued by Trading Standards for over 6 years . In that time, he has defrauded me and 3 other landlords to my knowledge of over £30,000 and probably hundreds of tenants. Be warned he is very convincing even to seasoned landlords and tenants. I have never known him put a deposit into a registered scheme and he knows the landlord is liable. He will often pocket the rent and deposit he collects in cash knowing there is no evidence.
For potential tenants, his second trick is to show several groups around 1 property and he will take an administration fee and deposit for all of them. I had two groups call me on one day both wanting to move into the same property, both having paid Mr Afilaka.
He has been featured on television programme Channel 5's Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords http://www.propertyindustryeye.com/landlord-protests-against-agent-by-walking-high-street-with-sandwich-board/.

DO NOT TRUST THIS LETTING AGENT - money taken for deposit and not registered with tenancy deposit scheme, then not returned at end of tenancy. The letting agent has kept the deposit despite various promises to refund it. The agent also took money to pay a contractor, then never paid the contractor.

Carl is a person one should not trust. We paid him 1850 pounds in advance before signing the contract for a flat. He told us that flat is available from 3rd FEB 2014 and we needed the Flat from that date only we are very clear on the date from the beginning and the money was transferred on the basis of his word that the Flat is available from that date. The landlord did not agree to sign the contract because the Flat was not available from that date. Carl told us that he would make the landlord to sign the contract. Nothing happened. After 3rd Feb, Carl told that the flat is not available and he would refund the money. He did not pay anything and did not reply our mail. We send postal letters but did not get any reply. An officer from the Oxford city council made call from on our behalf and he agreed and told us that he transferred the money to our account. We waited and the money did not showed up in our account, we contacted him again and was told that he would do it asap but never did it. This saga continued for 2-3 wks but we did not get back our money. We contacted him personally, he told us we should go his office and collect the check. After keeping our money for 4 months he issued a check of 1850 pounds and we agreed that we will not ask for any other compensation though we have lost around 600-700 pounds for his actions. Then he played dirty trick and stopped the payment, when contacted he lied to us that its the banks fault and he will give the money in Cash. Then one day he sent us statement by email that he is deducting 400 pounds. When I contacted he became abusive and told me F**K YOU and asked me to go to the court . We have suffered silently because we trusted the agency and give them ample time to rectify the mistake. Please contact us if want more information re their dirty tricks. Do not suffer like us.

What agent could do to change your mind?
The price for a 1 bedroom flat is very high £900 but it is nothing compare to the £4975 that the Christopher Stanley Ltd owes us.

I was very hesitate to pay that money as it all happened very quickly, viewing, filling out the form and paying money within few days only. When I talked to 'the manager' Carl he reassured me if for some reason I won't be able to move in my deposit ill be return.
I knew from the beginning that references fee was non refundable.
While we getting ready to move in to new flat we were selling the house which was delayed by 6 days. I asked landlady if we can signed the contract 6 days later but she said 'no'. Fair enough it's her property so she could say no.
I then asked for my deposit back which both agency and landlady promised to return they said it was non refundable and it was an admin fee!!!
I was cheated and I treated in a very bad manner.
I'm writing the review to warn others - please DO NOT use this agency!
They are frauds!
