My experience started off fine (or so I thought), when I called and arranged a viewing for a flat in the Q4 apartment block. I explained when I was planning on moving in (early to mid- June) and what I was looking for. The man who showed me round seemed lovely and answered all my questions, recommending that I called first thing Monday morning once I'd been to the other two viewings I had booked over the weekend if I decided to rent the property. This was where the problems started. I called at 9:03 and was told by the woman who answered that she needed to swap onto a different computer/phone line so she'd call me back in five or ten minutes. 24 minutes later I gave up and called back, at which point Hannah answered. She told me they'd all just been in their morning meeting which is why I hadn't been called back, which made me wonder why the first woman had decided to lie about how quickly she'd be back in contact. I told her which property I was intending to rent at which point I was told that the landlord in charge of that property wanted somebody to move in no later than 30th May (it was advertised as being available FROM 30th May). I asked why I'd been shown around it in the first place when they knew all my details and she said the guy that had taken me round had only worked with the company for two weeks. I think it was highly unprofessional to try and blame him as he didn't even book my viewing, and if he had been with the company such a short time should surely have had more guidance from experienced employees. She said she would get in touch with the landlord and call me back 'in a few minutes' to let me know if he was willing to push back the move in date until 2nd June. Two and a half hours later I called back and was told she'd been out on viewings since then which is why again she hadn't bothered to contact me. The landlord apparently was unwilling to budge two days even though I was offering to move in two weeks earlier than originally intended. This company is inefficient, lies regularly to cover up their own cock-ups and has no concept of good customer service.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Could have kept me up to date/given me correct information rather than wasting my time
