AWFUL SERVICE NEVER RENT WITH O'RIORDAN BOND.
The manager of the Weston Favell branch found it appropriate to stand shouting and pointing her finger at my parents and partner when they were trying to rectify this situation. I've never dealt with anyone in authority who has showed themselves to be more vulgar, dishonest and unprofessional.
Myself and my partner viewed a property, it was a nice house but it needed some repairs and general cleaning. At our viewing we were told that all repairs would be completed, the carpets would be cleaned and the walls would be painted, so we signed up for the house.
When we collected the keys on moving day and entered the house I was DISGUSTED. The whole house was covered in filth and we discovered mould and grime in EVERY room (completely unacceptable and unhabitable with our baby.) There were loose, live and uncovered electrical wires, black muck in the toilet and the filthiest shower I've even seen.
We phoned the office straight away and were told it would all be sorted for the next day. We received a phone call the next day then saying it would be the day after instead. When we entered the house the only work that had been carried out was the cleaning of the oven and the wires, the house was still completely filthy. The branch manager then told us that we were wrong and it wasn't mould (a blatant lie), she also claimed that cleaners had been in, which I can only assume was another LIE as the entire house was covered in dust and filth.
The member of staff then changed his story and said we were never told any of these repairs and work would be carried out (very confusing as a few days before he even gave my partner a courtesy call saying that he had infact said it and that all the work should have been carried out.)
We are now left essentially homeless with a 6 month baby old baby, and have had to pay out over £300 for the storage of our belongings.
The whole ordeal has been hideous and feels like we've been dealing with a scam artist rather than a so called professional company.
We have contacted trading standards who are now following it up as the house was completely miss-sold to us and we never would have signed up for it if we knew it was going to be left in such a state.
We have also contacted solicitors as the verbal agreement we had on our viewing was broken, and we are also nearly £400 down. All due to O'Riordan Bonds completely unprofessional way of working.
What agent could do to change your mind?
As soon as the manager saw the state the house had been left in she should have helped us to find somewhere else. If she had done this straight away rather than lie to us, tell us the house was sorted when it wasn't, and then become so aggressive and vile towards all of us then we would have been happy customers.
The funny thing is we found another house with O'Riordan Bond in the midst of all this mess which if she'd have showed us we would have probably moved straight in to! (and it was more money!), but after this I would NEVER do business with them ever again and am advising everyone I know to do the same.
Don't lie to your customers, don't shout at your customers.
