Having washed their hands of us the minute we walked into the rental property in Newbury, we had to chase the landlord to get the gas connected and fix the lack of water pressure (couldn't have a shower). They harrassed us with threatening letters towards the end of the tenancy even though we'd paid the rent in advance for the last remaining few weeks (no polite query for payment, straight to legal threats, despite having already paid them). They then charged us over £100 for a check out service....err, hang on we were charged for a check in service too. So, the next tenants ALSO got charged a check in service as the same inventory clerk told me he loves them because he gets paid twice for the same work. They then lost the keys and let new tenants move in to the property and passed the blame to us for not having passed on the keys. The check out was signed by THEIR clerk who took a photo of said keys. The deposit was disputed - BY THEM - not the landlord. Then the landlord jumped in to relcaim some losses that she'd been charged by them. They stole the interest that would have been paid out by the deposit protection agency but they put a clause in our contract so that they could. THEY SIMPLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYONE and just find new ways to screw money out of tenants and londlords. Truly the worst agent I've ever come across. Avoid at all costs.
What agent could do to change your mind?
They contract out everything - key handling, deposit handling, maintenance. They do nothing for the tenant and rip them off at every step. How to improve? Go bust and don't sully the high streets with your scum.Attached Filesnbsp;

We would normally offer to help you contact your Landlord in a situation where we do not manage the property. Regarding the check-in and check-out, these are often very different as there is usually remedial work and cleaning carried out between tenancies and these documents, along with the inventory which the Landlord pays for, are imperative to recording these differences.
