I am not usually one to write reviews, positive or negative, but after having such a great experience with Acorn at Forest Hill, I feel the need to let people know about their exceptional customer service. From the outset, I found Acorn professional and easy to deal with; especially compared to other local agents I had been unfortunate enough to have to deal with. Jonathan Mook was excellent, always keeping me up to date on the market and showing me exactly the type of properties I had asked for. When we found the right one, I felt he was open and honest in the negotiation and he also helped me find solicitors who were excellent and a mortgage broker who got me a cheaper mortgage rate. Glen Maher, the manager, then did the sales progression. I was always fully kept up to speed on what was going on, and when I didn't understand something Glen would always take the time to explain everything in full. Glen has a fantastic team there and I cannot thank them enough for making what is usually a painful, long and drawn out process into a genuinely pleasant experience. In case you had not guessed it, I highly recommend this particular branch of Acorn.

Terrible service, constantly given the run around to the point where I missed out on another property with another letting agent.

Terrible service, constantly given the run around to the point where I missed out on another property with another letting agent.
Took a holding deposit to then continue to host viewings at the same property and then gave the property to someone else and lied about it.
In every instance I had to contact them and chase the entire office for updates regarding the property and was never met with direct answers.
I’m still yet to receive back my holding deposit.

I had the worst experience with this estate agents if your selling your house be very cautious about using this branch, I've had to ask for my house to be taken off the market with them because there service is so bad! Firstly I signed up with the Grove park branch but because the Forest hill branch found me a potential buyer I had to deal with them. Louis was dealing with my sale but his attitude is disgusting so I asked for someone else and was passed over to Danny who was worse and was never available when I would ring and wouldn't return my calls. they get so much money from commission but don't do anything to deserve that commission, as most of the time the seller is doing all the chasing. My experience has been so bad that I'll be making a complaint to the Ombudsman.

We had an awful experience with Acorn when purchasing a house - it's clear that they represent the seller's needs 100%, with no regard for the buyer. We found Acorn to be unnecessarily aggressive and meddling into matters that our solicitors were already managing perfectly fine. It was so clear that all Acorn cared about was earning its commission asap and they'd do anything to reach that goal. Acorn would only contact us if it was something they wanted - when we had a question, we were often ignored.

I had 5 agents that came to value my property in SE23 and several undervalued it by over £30k, one got lost and came with no information pack and the other tied you in a contract for too long. I decided to go with my instinct and went with Acorn and I am extremely pleased I did so. With all property transactions there are always issues that arise. As we were in a chain we had many throughout the sale. Johnathon Mook was absolutely brilliant. He always kept me updated and advised me what to do. When there was problems with the sale and I had to contact Johnathon he was quick to respond and return all my calls. Nothing is worse than when an agent does not answer the phone and deal with your queries. There was an incident when one of the buyers solicitors did not answer anyone calls and left the others waiting. Johnathon was going to speak to them personally but unfortunately was not allowed due to office protocol. Now that is what I call excellent customer service going the extra mile to get the job done. I can be very critical and hard to please. However with Johnathon one can't praise him enough for his excellent customer service and professionalism. I highly recommend Acorn in Forest Hill and if you have Johnathon overseeing the sale you will be in good hands.

I'm letting my flat through Acorn for 4 years now as I am overseas. The first tenant stayed for 3 years, acorn only checked the property twice during those 3 years when they told us they would do a check every 6 months.
When the tenant left, every potential tenant that came to view the flat said the flat was dirty and smelly. When the flat was finally let the new tenants complained there was rubbish under the beds and behind the appliances and when I asked the agent why they never told me so a cleaner could be sent he said that due to Health and Safety he couldn't bend over to check under the beds.
I asked the agency manager to change the agent as I didn't trust him, this was not only not done but now this guy is even less helpful, every month he sends me emails asking for a technician to be sent to the flat for "repairs" that range from connecting an electric cooker to unblock the garden drain that was blocked by the leaves the tenant never cleaned. I feel that he has a personal grudge and I don't know what to do.

We used Acorn to assist us in letting our property. Alex was incredibly unprofessional and we would warn others to be aware of his "sales pitch". He did initially find us tenants (after a long period), but those tenants did not match what we understood he said they were like (they were smokers and had children). Alex had said that the management team were going around to check the property (as required under the terms of the contract). After a short period of time, the tenants just left (without notice) . Alex phoned us saying he would put the property back on the market and that it was all in good condition. After a few weeks, we went round to the property to find it in a complete mess - furniture had been destroyed, walls drawn over by the children etc. We swiftly moved to Robert Stanford, who so far have been much more satisfactory and clearly run better checks on future tenants and comply with terms of their management agreement. The whole process was so stressful and would urge others to avoid!

Acorn are tragically terrible. They appear to be proactive and accommodating when you're looking for a house but as soon as you're signed up and you need help or support they never answer the phone. If something has broken down or is flooding etc you'd better be good at DIY because they take forever to get things fixed for you.
Their administration is awful and considering the extortionate charges they charge, you would expect them to be able to at least provide this kind of support well. They also try and force you to sign up to a specific energy provider called Sparks Energy which is an over priced energy provider that everyone should steer clear of and they want to charge you
