The only reason you got a response as quickly as you did was because you called one of your investor guys, they made me an offer way below what my house is worth, even in this bad economy. I only agreed to the offer because I was told to do so by Andy so that I did'nt lose the buyer, as it would give me a chance to try and achieve the price that I can actually afford to sell at.

Good Evening, I have my house on the market and am happy with their marketing (Independent). Unfortunately since the "for sale" board has been erected I have been subjected to non-stop literature through my door and even had some young lad (slightly older than ten but the ability to dress like one) knock on my door asking me to value my house! They seem to be more concerned with my property than they are of their own stock. Surely this lads time would be better spent calling potential buyers to get viewings not annoying me. He left his card and had written on it "I may have some good news for you, what have u got to lose". I have absolutely nothing to lose but this "company" has already lost their credibility in my eyes. Shoddy, shoddy estate agency that reminds me of 80's style double glazing sales tactics. Long live the Independent agencies!

Hi there. It is absolutely legal to keep your house on the market and open to offers until exchange of contracts. It is gazumping if another buyer outbids the one proceeding, but this is totally within the law and up to the Vendor whether they wish to do so. I am glad we were able to agree a sale so quickly at a price you found acceptable. If you wish us to remarket your property please do let me know.

Please note - I had a valuation at 2pm thurs sept 30th, I signed the contract friday oct 1st, I had a viewing the next morning saturday oct 2nd and had an offer of 105k. Then I had further offers of 108k, 110k, 112,5k and eventually 115k all from the same buyer. I accepted as I was informed that my house would be kept on the market until contracts were signed to see if I got any higher offers..I believe this is commonly known as gazumping and no longer legally practiced.
I informed Haart the very least I could sell for was 120k with a guide price of between 125k and 135k so in my opinion you are clearly and obviously wrong in stating that you have achieved over and above the minimum price I was prepared to accept.
Please note that it was not a case of the other agency not being able to sell my house but infact I withdrew from them so that I could sell to my son.

Regrettably we cannot control what offers a buyer will make but it is always the choice of the seller which offer they accept.

We aim to sell your property in the quickest time we can, at a price you find acceptable.

You are fully entitled to market your property until exchange in the hope of finding a buyer who offers more than your current one.

I understand that the previous agent was unable to sell your property, and that we have achieved over and above the minimum price you were prepared to accept.
